Orion Pax Figure

Hi! I recently purchased this Orion Pax figure from E-Hobby. I struggled with whether or not to purchase him, but I finally gave in b/c he is a pre-Prime figure and Prime is one of my favorite characters.
It's a little disappointing that he is only basically a repaint of G1 Kup. But I guess he's still pretty cool! And he did come with his buddy Deon, which also is a repaint of G1 Wheelie. Anyone else have him?
What's your thoughts about him? Did they finally make a Ariel figure? I think I may have it, isn't she a motorcycle from the energon series line?

Looks cool. Can you post a close up of the head?

So there really is an Orion Pax figure. Any pics of the box and tech specs scan?

the only tech specs that come with the toy are the ones on the collectors card that comes with the figure, the same one that comes with all the TFCs and the e-Hobby's
I have him, bought him when he first came out. He's a nice little homage to the more forgotten characters of G1. He gets better with the sticker upgrade set from ReproLabels.

Here's a close-up of Orion Pax face. Looks just like Kup's face. The tech info from E-hobby is in Japanese.

Here's a shot of OrionPax with G1 Prime and his Matrix.

Nice pictures. That looks like a G1 Prime, what version of it came with a matrix chamber and the matrix?

G1 Prime with Matrix? First time to see that.

There's no matrix chamber there, it's just the same opening chest that Prime always had (it's where you can store his fists in truck mode). I'm not sure about the Matrix offhand, it might be one of the custom jobbies, unless there was a version that came with it (one of the Takara reissues, perhaps?). It's the blue eyes and windows that throw me off; G1 Prime has clear windows and yellow eyes.

Original G1 Prime can do that chest opening?

Will do, once I get home form work. Anybody else is welcome to post pix if you can before me.
Oh and to
Auto Bot, I take it you have never had a G1 Prime b4. The cab has always flipped forward to fit two Microman figs, from the Diaclone days. Leter when he became a TF, most of us used the spot for his fists. The fists also have a spot in the trailer, but It was always easier as a kid to put them in the cab.

There was a special reissue of G1 Prime, a so-called New Year's Edition. It had show-accurate colors, remolded guns, an Action Master Prime, a Matrix with chain and a mouse pad. The same Matrix was used for the G1 Galvatron reissue.

I managed to get a New Year's Prime early last year. I wasn't going to get another G1 Prime but after seeing all the extras that came with him I gave in, plus I was suckered in by the show accurate paint job. After I got him, I realized that the only real difference in paint was the blue eyes and blue windshields. Still a cool figure, plus he came with more than one rifle. I can't remember if my original G1 did when I was a kid. I haven't opened up the Takara book version or my Encore reissue so I don't know if they also came with an extra gun too or not.
Yeah, I wasn't going to buy the Encore version either. I figured 3 G1 Primes was enough, but when Encore was available for pre-order, I bought all four figures that were available.

This G1 Prime IS a 20th Anniversary Prime and he does come with the matrix that fits inside his chest. He also came with a action master version of Prime.

And just because everyone else beat me to the things I knew, the Action Master Prime was in cartoon colours as well wasn't he? No more Fanta Eyes. I was actually amazed that so many people on this thread were unaware of both Orion Pax and the New Years Convoy. Of course, now I'll probably post some astounded and amazed comments about some not-very-obscure BW or RiD toy that
I've never heard of or seen and make myself look foolish.[/i]

20th? Try 18th, since New Year's Convoy came out in 2002, not 2004 like Masterpiece Convoy / 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime.

Looking through my New Years Convoy box again I noticed that the chain isn't intended for a TF figure to wear the matrix, it's made so that people could really wear the matrix around their neck. Now that's class!

20th anniversary of the Convoy toy, not the TF franchise maybe?

I placed the chained matrix , that came with Galvatron, into old Prime..

I think the earliest instance of Convoy was "Battle Convoy" released as a part of the Diaclone line in 1983. It would be the 19th year aniversary if that were the case. I could be wrong though. I don't know a whole lot about Microman but I don't think Convoy was a part of it. Anyone with a more familiar background in the Pre-Transformer history of characters feel free to correct me.
