I'm thinking about adding him to my rid collection I've seen the pictures of him all over the place I'm just wondering if he is worth it or not. Considering he has ten different modes and all.

For starters I have a pro-Mega/Galvatron RID bias. I love the mold, and the toys are pretty fun too. Some of Galvatrons' alt modes are forgetable, but overall it's a great figure. The white and black paint in nicer IMO that the paint of RID Megatron, but as far as the alt modes go the ones that are lame on Galvatron are also found on Megs, like the pointless claw and gargoyle modes. All the others are good.

I have the RID Megatron. Ame mold, different paint. He's a pain in the ass to transform, though.

And if you buy the takara version of Megatron, don't expect him to have ten modes.
Hasbro used the "Devil Gigatron" mold for both their Megatron and Galvatron figures.

I bought a knock-off version of him (oh noes, how dare I be frugal

) And for the most part he's pretty cool. Some of the alt modes are indeed a pain to transform, and some are just downright silly (fear my giant hand mode, grr!) But the colors and general molding of the figure is pretty good, especially in the two head molds.
Overall I'd say its still worth it, if you find it at a decent price.

I have the Galvatron version and on the whole, he's a pretty good transformer. Some modes are barely recognizable (the boat and car modes particularly) but the others are cool. Some don't like the claw form but it's one of my favorites, it's gripping motion is a cool little bonus.

I have both Megs and Galvatron ^_^
I really recommend you get him. Although he's not as tall as let's say king starscream :p he's still a really great figure. The only con I have is his little arms and dragon mode. They're a real pain in the butt to twist around for his other modes. But Dragon mode, Griffith Mode, Robot Mode, and Jet mode are awesome.
When it all comes down to it though it's just a choice of color. Purple/Black (Gothic Megatron XD) or White and Black with a wittle purple(Old movie galvatron XD).
I know, lay off the sugar.

I would consider the white and black to be more gothic.
As he is supposed to be undead at the time, pretty much a vampire.

I have the black and White Galvatron repaint, and I'm sad to say, he's starting to get very loose in his thigh joints. I really don't transform him that much and he's mostly in robot mode and yet he's starting to have a hard time standing up, in any poses. I don't know why.
But he does however look really cool. I gave him Energon Rodimus's gun, as his arm mounted weapon ala G1 Galvy. And he looks really cool. I also really like his double sword.
I particularly like his Jet mode. and his double headed dragon mode.
his griffin mode isn't bad either. bu his boat mode is just ridiculous. His hand mode is pretty cool, and does have a corresponding usage in the cartoon. He connects to a big robot torso and attacks Fortress Maximus.
All in all he's a very nice and articulate figure. very complex to transform into anything. But well worth. I'd say no more than 40 or 50 bucks.
