That thing is awesome.
If I was rich, it would be mine.
Although the pictures make MP SS look like a little person bot.

Finaaly, one of my long time nagging questions have been answered. What scale is the TF Masterpeice line to the Macross line. It appears that the Macross 1/48 Veritech is the same size as Prime and Megs, while Screamer is on scale to the Macross 1/60 line.
Thanx for the linky.

You know, the Yamato 1/48th scale Valks can be had for under $150 on eBay... why not snatch one up and customize yourself? Much cheaper than the $600 price tag.

The seller started the auction at $10.
Bidders moved the price past the $600 mark.

what kind of robotech masterpiece would you use as a base for a jetfire?

^ The same one he used. I think he mentions it in the listing, or in the Q&A at the bottom.

Definitely one of the best customs ever made. S'just a shame I'm more attached to the human-faced Skyfire that I feel was reflected well in Classics Jetfire. Still, fans of the original Valkyrie design will probably go apeshit over this.
BTW, is MP Starscream really that small compared to Optimus and Megatron? I thought Hasbro would have made the sensible decision to keep all the MP's to scale.

Well, the winning bid for it was $751. Quite a haul for the lucky seller, considering the price of the toy before its customisation. Maybe if I learn to give TF's custom paint jobs, I could make a fortune!

See!!! I kept telling people Masterpiece Starscream was too Small, and now look!!! What a freaking jip!!! oh and Skyfire is cool, but I want an animation accurate version VS a G-1 toy accurate Bandai repaint ...not worth 600.00

Technically if you go by the cartoon, Skyfire was much taller than Starscream so this Jetfire would be pretty close in scale. This Jetfire is not in scale with Prime or Megatron though.
I'd love to see a Skyfire MP. It'd pretty much have to be Skyfire due to licensing, plus other than the Classiscs Jetfire/Skyfire there hasn't been a very close likeness to the animated version. A Skyfire perfect edition would be great as an MP but he'd have to be pretty big to stay in scale with Prime and Megatron. I really like Jetfire, don't get me wrong, he's one of my favorite figures but not very accurate with the show's character or likeness.

That's more like it. The torso is a little funky, maybe a bit too long or narrow, but not bad for a work in progress. Looks pretty close to Skyfire from the cartoon.
Also needs a symbol he can change on his chest from Decepticon to Autobot like from Fire in the Sky.

Actually I think he tears it of like a sticker and sticks on a random white plate with the Autobot symbol that he must carry around just for those occassions.

Guess I'll be the only Nay-sayer for this one. I like my 1/48 Valks the way they are. If I feel like red, I'll just pick up my Hikaru VF-1S. Thank you very much.

If Takara ever did a large version of Skyfire in Masterpiece like the custom, it would be really cool, and highly sought after..
I could totlaly see them placing some kind of opening panel like in the catoon as a gimmick so you can mimic the repair scene in the old G-1 cartoon!! that would be nice!!
