Movie toy Barricade questions

1) How are we suppose to peg him in the chest? The things don't even fit...And I heard people breaking it straight off @_@

2) How can I return my Barricade to Hasbro? The painting on the left side fudged up on the decepti. logo. Plus, on the left clear window screen, they left a thin black ink line (Tried scratching it out with fingernail as to not damage the window, but to little avail). I can't return it to the store since I opened it already (stupid change of policy and will post pic).

3) How is he suppose to stand? He keeps on collapsing forward on the foot fold area.

4) Spring action arm keeps un-springing when transforming back and forth...any help on that?

5) Silver painting is scratching off the inner thigh area when in car mode on smooth play area. :-x Anyone else noticed that on their barricade?

This is not the first time I had problems with Hasbro products. I had to return Optimus Prime (ROD) twice since the big wheels were slashed when I opened him the first time. I exchanged it for another at the same store, same thing happened plus one of the little wheels was packed with it was missing. I had to order online for the guy (Thankfully in good condition to play with). I bought Ultra Magnus (ROD), not a major problem with it until I made Omega Supereme. Friggin' head is stuck facing the left side. When I try moving it, in a straight forward or right side turn, it would turn back to the same position. The "Evolution Bumblebee Set" was return (with celver taping and remaking of opened slot), since the left side headlights chest piece wouldn't move all the way in when reverting to car mode and they had a sale on it ($5 back in my pocket :) ). The irony in all of this: they all came from the same Target. And I don't remember until I mess around with the toys.

you can't return a toy because of crappy paint apps  hasbro would be bankrupt!

pretty much all you problems are typical. the heels have to be clicked into the spoiler for him to stand. or you can put nail polish on the joints and he'll stand normally. i don't understand the "pegging" thing. are you referring to the bumper?

This makes me sad. I hate these instructions...I found out that the front toe-like thing can pop-up after seeing the recon packaging. Hmmm, I guess I can try returning it by fixing it up what I did last time and return it.

6) One more thing. I can't get the head straight out, like how they did on the packaging picture.

When I got my Barricade there were two on the shelf. I picked up one and wandered off to look at the electronics. Then it struck me, people on Seibertron are always talking about the inconsistency of paint apps, so I took a look at my Barricade.

The silver part of his siren was bleeding into half the blue, the left door had a black line going through it, and 643 on the front was missing half the three.

I promptly returned to the shelf and picked up the other Barricade, whose only fault was having a tiny black line at the top of the left door again. Naturally I quickly swapped packages and resumed my shopping.

The moral of the story is, always check before you buy!

The pegs under his chest don't slot fully in. They rest at an angle (I think). It looks like they should slot all the way in but if you were to push them fully the figure would break.

Do you guys mean the bull bars that cover frenzy? If so then yes they rest at an angle. If you look just under his headlights you can see the plastic matches up to the bull bars meaning it's not supposed to go in any further.

I think he means where the top of his waist meets the bottom of his chest.

Weird, I don't see any pegs on mine. :???:

Mine has slochy purple paint on his legs.

Which is fine, really, since I keep it in vehicle mode. After all ... THAT is why I got him.

Why am I wondering if the powers-that-be are just seeing how cheaply they can make their product before it stops selling?

That's the problem with companies... They demand an increase in profits every year, and when the year on year profits stagnate, they start making cuts to push up them back up... *Sigh*

u pull the head up out of the hood, then pull it up and you should be set

My Barricade looks ok. Only 2 minor complaints. The "police" on the spoilers don't line up. The Decepticon logo on right fender is missing a portion.

That's all.

Legs and feet are fine. Head pops out ok. I notice the head is made of rubber. Claws a bit sensitive. It can stay folded. But sometimes, small movements can trigger it. Not too big an annoyance though.

It looks looks nothing but the window is actually bad if you look at it slanted instead of on top. It's hard cause the line is really thin, it looks like a little crack but it's not.

Image
It got butchered. Badly. Worst part is that you really couldn't see it in packaging since it was on the left (driver) side. The packaging displays to the right and angles the left.

You can see it's shape in the third picture. The small one is what I meant by pegs. They won't fit in.

My main question is now is should I return it and exchange it?

More pics later on thigh area and head.

Those pegs aren't meant to lock. I know they look like they're supposed to, but ... no. Stupid, isn't it?

You can try an exchange, but you're not garunteed a great one. I guess I lucked out with my Barracade.

Maybe you can ask Repolabels to add stickers for messed up decals on Barracade figures? If it's a common problem....

The peg should fit. It's even better if it's really tight.

But if it won't fit, you can try shaving it off a little. Just a little.

But i'd suggest you try the exchange first. Shaving is for last resort.

I just saw Recon Barricade up close today.

I notice it is not a police car anymore. But a security vehicle. Like some security detail of a company or a village.

And Frenzy fell into a vat of blue paint!

That's just it, they don't fit. The big bigger peg fits but the smaller prevent it from going all the way in.

I hear your pain, and share some of the issues on my Barricade. But the ankle is fixable with superglue or nail polish(or just click it to lock with the spoiler). Don't get chest issue, as mine stay put in place, but don't see no peg I can think of. Others are minor paint issues. But really, its Hasbro we are talking about, and a $10 Deluxe figure no less. Don't think I've ever bought a Hasbro TF figure without some paint flaws LOL.

I have no problems with my Barricade or my son's Recon Barricade.

Screw it. I am going to try to repackage it and try to return it. If not...then I guess I'll set him up on display in car mode.

The latter option presents less headache. :)

Refund or exchange?

the painting in hasbro's TF's has always been something to look out. When you want to buy a transformer you got to see it from all the posible angles inside the box, to make sure there are not big flaws with it's finishing. But it doesn't matter how much care you take to pick one up, in the end is a question of luck, since you'll never be able to see all the parts inside the box.

Barricade is very likely to land on his face in most poses you may try to place him, this is a general problem that all barricades have, the best way to avoid this is either keeping him straight by locking his feet. I´ve found a small crack on the right foot socket, on the area that connects with the leg's ball joint. Anyone else have noticed similar damage on your barricade's feet?

About the random punching spring arm, whenever you try to pose his left arm or if you´re transforming him, the switch will trigger itself, extending the arm. I think this looks funny and does not make barricade look better, so they should have left this action out of the toy. You can fix this by using super glue to attach the peg that holds the arm in place, with the cavity where it fits, but at your own risk.

When barricade is in car mode, you got to make sure that all the parts form his underside (crotch area, upper part of the legs) are pushed in as far as they can go, if not , even if you roll him on a smooth surface, these will scratch against it, causing the paint to chip away. I prefer to live him robot mode and not to play woth him when in alt mode.
