I can't wait to get him after all the pictures I have seen, he seems like an amazing figure it was a toss up between him and rid galavtron. But I was lucky enuff to win the auction.

He is very cool, and HUGE!
I still have the one I owned as a kid.
I am always on the lookout for the d-98 Takara reissue so I can have a brand new one.

I'm not sure if he is an orignal takara version or the reissue but here is a link to auction with pictures:

I've still got my original Sixshot. Got him for Christmas 1987 from my big sister. I had originally asked her for Scorponok but he was sold out so she got me Sixshot instead.
Don't forget about his "secret" 7th mode!
Just do me a favor and don't ever call him "UNCLE SIXSHOT". Ugh, my mind is aching again thinking about that.
I still would have rather had Scorponok BTW. No knock on Sixshot, but I'm a big headmaster fan.

It is hard to tell from the box which is vintage and which is reissue since I dont read Japanese. They look identical.
I know that if it comes in styrofoam its vintage, plastic tray is reissue.
I think this seller may have misrepresented the item.
The plastic tray gives it away, what vintage TF of that size from the 80s was packed in any but styrofoam?
The price is right though, you can pay upwards of $100 for the reissue, sealed or MIB

You won't regret it, I assure you. Sixshot's seven shades of cool.

thats the reissue but at that price still a steal, an excellent very solidly constructed reissue which 'feels' so much better than any of those movie toys!
http://cgi.ebay.com/SIXSHOT-D-98-JAPANE ... dZViewItema better bargain than this one!!
heres the vintage japanese, note the old takara logo at the bottom right.

Congrats Shortround. I have the reissue of Sixshot and you'll love him. He's solid, with decent colors, and he looks like he could waste some Autobots. He'll go nice against your Powermaster Prime you picked up!

anyone know if there are visual differences on the box that sets the reissue and the vintage apart?

9 1/2" to the top of the head, 12 1/2" to the wingtips.

yes, the reissue has the new takara logo, the vintage has the old one with the little face.

You bet I will take some picture I will have him standing next powermaster prime just so people can see how tall he is. I can't wait to get him I've wanted him for along time. After looking at all different photo galleries and then seeing my friend in person he struck me as being a pretty amazing figure.

Yeah the original G1 Japanese box says:
"D-98 UNCLE SIXSHOT"On the back of the box it said:
"Watch Sixshot go from ruthless cold-blooded bad-ass Autobot killer to Uncle Sixshot in less than 30 Episodes!"Just kidding of course.
"Darn you, Uncle Sixshot"

I figured out these four modes robot mode, beast mode, tank mode, car mode out of sixshot official six modes so far and I haven't even needed to look at the instuction yet. It is a really amazing figure for something from the late 80's early 90's. I have to say there is no reason they couldn't do a classics version of him considering that his gun mode doesn't look all that really. I fact classic megatron looks more like a gun than he does. Zemper I got him on ebay it was lucky more than anything in this case.
