YO, I'm not realy looking to give access to all my Ebay info, so search this auction number:

220165166334

OL' LIEGE just got himself an OverLord

This one will be displayed, and I'm gonna go for a boxed version soon to. With nothing great on the retail horizon after MP StarScream, I'm gonna focus on the vintage big guns in 2008!

Well, I'll be damned. This figure is here in Belgium. (For all I know, it could be the same one I saw at the FACTS convention last month.) I might have placed a bid - if I was the least bit interested in Overlord. I honestly don't know why he gets so much attention. I thought Fortress Maximus and Metroplex were the bases of choice.

Hell Yeah, I have alot of the G1 US bases, but they're boxed. So I'm going for all them loose so I can preserve the ones I have now.

Still, I want all the Japanesse bases and leaders. I know it will be pricey, but Animated is mostly a pass, ALLSPARK POWER falls into the same catagory.

So instead of splurging willy nilly on Ebay and throughing all my ducets at retail, I figure take my already large collection, and give it it's crown jewels!

All of them are great! OverLord as a leader, normaly gets dismissed as a base, which only makes that mode all the sweeter :-P Same goes for Dai Atlas.

MAX and Metroplex are awesome, but they are comon(ish).

Omega Supreme is realy a base of choice(got one boxed, need a loosy now)

That's another thing that puzzles me. Why do some people need two of the same Transformer? I think that's taking fandom to silly extremes.

To an extent I agree, however some bots are just that awesome.

I could take my Omega back out of the box and display him in front of it, or put the box in storage again, but it's kinda hack.

Having one to preserve, and even a less than perfect to enjoy, well, theres just something to ne said about that.

What it is eludes me at the moment, but I think it's a matter of quality in what you collect. Arter all have you ever seen pics from collectors that display there bots, AND the empty boxes, it's weak. However if you can display a bot as well as his preserved self it just kicks your collection up in the ways of quality and enjoyability.

"Toys, preserved in the package, alive out of the box!"

Something I heard years ago that is true. I for one would like to experience both sides of that line though.

You plead your case eloquently, and I think I do know what you mean. To tell you the truth, I had a passing fancy of purchasing two Classics Jetfires after being simply amazed at his aesthetic design and successful combination of all his past incarnations... but it just so happens that I bought the last one in the store. 8)

Cool, outside of the minis and cliffjumper, I got 2 of each Classic for the same reason.

However, I just wanna say, unless it's something real special, I don't get two. Although I have many boxed bots, I have more loose, cause after all they are toys, and I do wanna play

Hence, the more affordable loose OverLord as apose to the $500 more boxed BUY IT NOW OverLord.

$500 for a box is alot! Plus I wanna get into this figure and enjoy him befor letting him sit boxed. It's a learning tool as well.

This goes for all figures.

Just because a figure is vintage or rare, doesn't mean it's priceless. I've been seeing this figure boxed for $800 - $1500 for some time now. I figure go for loose, have my fun with it. Then see how much I'd like to spend on one to preserve. OR maybe just wanna get rid of, buy a box for, or just let it sit on the shelf :-?

Either way, I wanna have a Good Fun Affordable, collection.

Yeah... that could be (and, it would appear, has been) misinterpreted. :P

But nice one, Liege. Overlord's a fantastic fig (I got him back when we had him as the antithesis to the Motorvators/Brainmasters), actually I believe one of the biggest after Fort Max, and I love him to bits, possibly moreso than Scorponok actually.

You know, here's another Overlord at a much cheaper price in Holland:

260176583131

I don't know exactly what pieces he's missing, but he seems relatively complete to me. It won't cost you much extra to buy the missing accessories on eBay either.

Parts for the Japanesse figures are rare on Ebay. If it's something good, I want it complete in one shot.

Thanks for looking out though, that seller has alot of good stuff!

Scorponok is on my list as well. I had him a while ago complete with the box. I got him at a flea market for $20 from a very sad collector who was being made to sell his collection by his wife.

That day I got Scorpy, Wreck-Garr, Grimlock, and the Devastaror Gift Set for about $80. He had tons more, the next day I went back with $800 cash, but he was gone

To this day I still kick myself for getting rid of that mint condition piece.

You lucky sonuvabitch. I guess this is the reason there aren't many female TF fans out there. :-P

hehe...

My sisters don't understand the money I spend on these then go out and spend the same amount on walmount candel holders, curtains, and other assorted decorative crap :???:

My one sister actualy just asked me to move into her second floor apartment, but I remember this summer she garage saled all her fiance's diecast cars that she made him store in the basement. she made $70 (a net loss of about $600) off them and bought a 4ft christmas nutcracker with it.

That was a huge red flag to me!

See I don't think wpmen are smarter when it comes to spending, I just think they're stupid in a different way. And since men in general don't wanna hear it, we just let them have their way....

THE MORAL, stay single, and if you can't, make sure she knows you will cut her hands off if she touches your stuff :P

Thanks, I'm going for all the bases in '08. The ones I have boxed, I want loosies of, and vice versa.

It's about the only up to so little looking intresting on retail shelves in the coming year...

Do you count figures that have a seperate component that becomes a base like some micromasters?
And do you have a Grandus?

Nice... but man, that's a lot of money, I couldn't do that... I shudder when I spend 50$ for a transformer

looks like its the european one by the instructions but anyway nicee find hes really hard to get complete i paid 80 for the body and jet part which isnt bad i just wanted to have him in my collection and now he resides right next to star saber on my so called "super tf shelf"

I'm not counting the smaller bases like the micro or action master sets.

However figures like PM Prime, or Armada Prime with large base like components are in the mix.

And don't get me wrong, I know it's pricey and I'm far from rich. I know how much I spend on average on TFs, and as I've stated instead of grabbing everything on the retail shelves and being sporatic with my online figures, I'm setting a path and sticking to it.

In '09 I'm thinking of completing my combiners :-?

Plan ahead or fall behind!
