Question for G1 Shockwave owners

Just bought a MINT Shockwave for $100.00 and know they can suffer from slouching legs. Mine are nice and tight and I want to keep it that way. Will displaying him in robot mode deteriorate his legs from bearing weight? Should I just display him in gun mode? Also his rubber hose has no cracks in it, will something like meguires rubber protectant for cars work to preserve his hose? I dont want it to crack. I REALLY like this guy and want to make sure he stays mint. Thanks.

I display him in robot mode without the legs extended. The body weight rests on the lower leg plastic to bear the weight. I think he is in scale better this way and looks better, and is much more stable.

I wouldn't listen to Ratking. His intelligence level is 0. (j/k)

I use to have Shockwave. Displaying him with the legs extended with the upper body as heavy as it is will later make the legs sink. You'll have trouble later extending them due to the sinking looseness factor. I wouldn't transform him too much either, it gives him that same issue of the sinking legs due to the looseness of transforming it too much. I'd be careful with his elbows too. They can snap right off. Heard the hose decays over time too.

I've got an original and two KO's. In general I haven't found the legs that bad for slipping and I've owned these for like 20 years or whatever.

One of the KO's has that problem a bit, but I've found if you kind of push the legs out a bit farther at the base (or put his gun barrel piece between his legs on the ground to push them a bit farther than they'd normally go) he will stand even if the legs are loose.

Mine suffers from those two problems, as well as "slouch-leg". I'm trying to figure out how to glue his arm back on without fusing the joint. Any suggestions anyone?

Im displaying with his legs unextended and it doesnt look bad. I probably wont transform him too much (if at all) and im just going to cure his hose with rubber protectant to prevent cracking. But overall im very happy with this figure as it was one I really wanted as a child and never got.

Mine is in bot mode, with a little slouch to him, but not too bad.

If it gets worse I have a few spare clear plastic stands from Marvel Legends figures that I could use to support his weight.
