I've heard Shockwave was released by Radioshack in silver/gray colors. Did he have Transformers packaging, or was he released Pre-TF? Any pics from somebody with him?

I'm curious. maybe totally wrong too?

You're not wrong. Most people in the TF community have nicknamed him "Shackwave". He was released around the same time as the original I believe but not in TF packaging. Just happened that RadioShack and Hasbro both had the "go ahead" to release the figure.

I always thought the "Shackwave" nickname was pretty silly. "Radiowave" is much cooler and makes more sense to me. I actually have one, he's in such good condition that he looks like new-out-of-the-box. Even the rubber hose that usually cracks is perfect.

The Radio Shack version was called Galactic Man, and as you're aware both Takara and Radio Shack acquired the license to the mold around the same time. The original figure was released by Toyco, and was called Astro Magnum.

Does anyone know which version of "Shackwave" / Astro Magnum / Galactic Man had the translucent red parts, similar to the upcoming WST version?

To my knowledge, none of the official products did.

Shackwave=Galactic Man which was Dark Grey and clear
Astro Magnum was Grey and light pink
Shockwave, well you know that one

according to the transformers wiki there was one that was Grey and purple licensed to convert-a-bots named N-4-SR...that's news to me.

I've heard of many KO's/Bootlegs from the 80's and 90's. One of them could have featured that color scheme but nothing is coming to mind...

I had a Shackwave as a kid, I remember getting him for Christmas... I was fortunate enough to find one mint in box with what I assume is a Decepticon insignia from repolabels.com. This one proudly stands in my collection next to Reflector, who I have had since sending out those robot points years ago...

I have one of these - unfortunately, his translucent peg arm is broken.
