Energon Starscream Question

So I was perusing the image galleries a few minutes ago, and I'e got a question. The Energon Starscream gallery shows two versions of the figure. One somewhat-G1 color scheme, the other in darker colors with translucent green plastic in places. I actually own the one with the green, and I could not recall the other figure ever being released.
So what's the deal with the two Starscreams? Is one more sought after than the other? Rare? etc.

The other figure was released in a general release a couple years ago. It was one of the last waves of energon figures I believe, correct me if I am wrong. It wasn't out for too long, but then again the stores in my area are short of unreliable in that respect.
The G1 coloured Starscream was his reformat. There is a third variation of that figure and it's the Superlink reverse nightscream, which is blue where the figure is green and is also in "G1" colours. Actually it's pretty nice, I just don't have it yet.
There is also a repaint of Armada Starscream done in black red and gold that was a sams club exclusive which is also classified as an "Energon" Starscream. It's very pretty.
I don't think they were overly rare, but they seemed a touch hard to come by. Again given my area is unreliable for getting toys and figures it's little surprise.

The "dark green" Starscream is the Energon Series Accurate Starscream figure.
The later Starscream figure that has his G1 colours is called "Energon Starscream" and is meant to reflect the "Super Energon" upgrade Starscream received near the end of the Energon series.

The variations of this figure have already been covered pretty well, I'd just like to add that the Energon Energon (sounds weird) Starscream release was also remoulded with the battle damage that was on the previous releases' partially repaired. The colours were the same as far as I'm aware on both the Energon Starscream and Superlink Nightscream while the E E Starscream gets solid grey energon components (I believe the only energon components not to be cast in clear plastic and to be released under the Energon banner) and the S Reverse Nightscream gets clear blue energon components and a bright green set of the Insecticon/Chromehorn energon components as a bonus (mine got donated to E Demolisher). As far as E E Starscreams availability goes he was a later wave release in the US but didn't make it to the UK (and presumably Europe in general) as the line simply dried up before the last couple of waves and stock being supplied to retail went straight to the early waves of Cybertron. We missed out on a lot of the combiner limbs and the Combaticon torso as well as the Dinobots at retail because of that too.

Wrong: just painted over with white so you can't see the details that well.

The G1 redo of E Starscream is worth getting, I managed to get him a while ago, someone I know had a spare, so he sent him up to me. Well worth getting if you can get him, the colours are great and really suit the design. Ended up renaming the original E Starscream as ShadowScream, wrote out a bio and so on for him out of boredom, because of how good the G1 redo of E Screamer is.
It's a pain that he hadn't been given a UK release, but then that's normal when it comes to a full TF line, we're lucky if we get any at all.
Tony.

I started collecting halfway through Energon, so I missed out on the regular Starscream and had to get him on eBay. The G1 colored one was in stores, not exactly a shelfwarmer but I did see several of them. Needless to say I bought the first one I laid eyes on.
