All Jin does is use some acrylic paints and brushed them on to already existing figure to make them look more movie accurate. Its not like he is scratch building highly detailed new molds. All he did was stick a paint brush in a jar and rubbed it over the figure, or stuck a few existing spare gundamn or lego parts on to make new weapons.
He doesn't even use an airbrush or proper paints!
His work is good but people really need to realize that almost anyone can do what he, myself, and nearly every other TF customizer has done.
Jin hogs too much of the lime light around here. He's a nice guy and all but seriously anyone can do this stuff.
I Go To An Art School In Philadelphia and This Reminds Me Of A Similar Conversation I Was Having The Other Day. In This "Internet Age" Any One Can Slap Together A Flash Animation (Im An Animator Myself), A Photoshop Painting, Digital Photo Collection, or Any Other Form Of Modern Art and Post It On You Tube Or Commission Themselves On Deviant Art (Which Im Proud To Not Be Part Of Either).
The 2 Things That Do Matter When Sorting Through The Above Said (Because You Still Can Find The "True" Art In The Vast Internet) Are:
1 - The Artist Knowing Understanding And Practicing The Techniques. Jin Does This. It Not About Just What You Can Do (Or In The Internet Age "Throw Together") But Rather You Know How It Is Properly Done and Can Grow and Flourish With Your On Techniques Added As Well
2 - The Patron or Viewer (You). In Your Case Clearly You Can Not Appreciate Art (Transformers Art In This Case). Number 2 Goes Right Back To Number 1. Sure "Anybody" Can Read His Tutorials and Buy The Equipment. But The Work Jin Puts Out Come From Practice and Understanding Of The Trade. Which Once Again You Clearly Think You Have
Its Like A Fellow Student From Last Year. He Came My School. University Of The Arts. Wanting To Be A Photo Major. Yet His Only Experience In The Field Was Digital Photography (Internet Age Anyone....). He Knew Nothing Of How To Develop Traditional Film, Use Filters, Or Even For That Matter The Techniques For Aperture and Shutter Speed / Film Speed. His Knowledge was Composition and How To Digitally Edit Photographs In Photoshop. This Goes To My Personal Opinion. If You Don't Know Or Don't Want To Understand The Principles Of The Art Form Then You Cant Call What Your Create Art. Im Aiming To Go Into 3D Computer Animation, But Here I Am At UArts Doing Hand Drawn 2D Animation For the Next 2-3 Years. Why So I Can Understand The Art Form Better.
That Is What Separates You From Jin and An "Anybody" From An "Artist"
