OK take a look at the new animated pre-earth deluxe Prime

Notice something?
His alt-mode looks like a deformed G1 Prime cab!

Image

Wile his bot mode looks like a deformed WW Prime!

Image

Especially if you check his wheels on the shoulders.
So what do you think, did they do it intentional, or am I seeing things?
(Yes the pics are borrowed from the ebay auction, and google.)

Wait, didn't the Energon and Cybertron Optimus Primes look like deformed G1 cabs, too? Didn't some other Optimus Primes also bear a resemblance? Don't a lot of Optimus Primes have similarities?

Can't WWI Prime be WWI Prime?

Yea they did, but this bot-mode looks a LOT like WW Prime.

Couldn't they have found a way to hide those screws?

Optimus Prime looks like Optimus Prime and Optimus Prime? Really? :-?

Just kidding, heh heh. I don't really see a close resemblance though. The Alt-mode is closer to WWI prime than the bot mode is (probably because, well, they're both pre-earth modes) and the robot mode really doesn't look like WWI Prime to me, he doesn't remind me of any Prime I've seen.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Leonardo. He's Prime. He looks like...Prime.

So for this line we are going to get a Cyberton/Pre-Earth mode Prime and then his Earth alt mode Prime? Cause I had though his alt mode was going to be, again, a fire truck?
I'm fine if so, I like Prime figs so it'll be cool to have two in this style.

Not only does Animated Prime look like earlier Primes, but if he was painted white, he'd look like Ultra Magnus!

I get what Dead Metal is saying though...

The wheel shoulders are distinctively WWI Prime.

WWI Prime was a younger version of the Prime we know, much like Animated Prime is a younger version, etc.

Finally!
Some one understands what I meant.

Well from what I gather, the animated Prime is a cybertronian labor truck.. the crew they have are fix it crews and not Autobot Warriors, which i like the idea of, because remember it has been said that Sentinel Prime will be in the cartoon..so it makes sense that this Prime is just a laborer with a crew that ends up on Earth having to fight Megatron and his baddies..

plus when it comes down to it, he has to grow up pretty quick and upgrade into the fire truck, which looks very G-1.. so i kinda dig th new premise and action figures based ont hat.. if your really looking for a true reimagined G-1, this series is it..

Classics isn't truly reimagined, it's just updated toys based ont eh style used since Energon..

this is totally new.. new fluid designs, good transformation and a really updated almost Dreamwave and IDW-esque view of the transformers hierarchy and mythos.. you wanted a reason to like it CP?? I say it's War Within, Dreamwave, IDW and G-1 all rolled in..with a bit of teen titans for posterity..

so if the one above is the "Animated War Within form" then this fire-truck and G-1 homage is the new Prime!! and I like it!!!

Hell yea!
Oh and Ultra Magnus is in it and is soposted to look like his G1 self, just in the new animated style and he is above Prime!

I got that info from a user who has seen some of the first early version eps of it, he had a thread about it, at first I thought he wasn't legit but after we saw that new 1min clip, and the Con review, yes he is legit!

Oh and a brilliant digibash by the way, I loved that toy right from the start, now I just can't wayt to see it in person, so I can buy it!

Seems like some one is just brainwashing us into thinking Animated is awesome. Well I'm not buying this ruse, go to your room young man! |:[

Seriously though, pointing this out does seem a tad redundant. No offense but most forms of Optimus prime resemble some other form of Optimus Prime :-?

Dead Metal, you just made the most useless topic ever. Here's to you.

What was the point of this? It's not like we can't use google.....

Uhm... other than the wheels, I really don't see THAT big of a resemblance, nor could I really care anyway...

To be honest.... WWI prime looks more like WWI prime than this thing does :P All joking aside I really don't see the point in another topic about how animated prime looks like this or this or this. (Not saying you're making multiple topics, but as far as I can see theres already been numerous topics about this kind of thing...)

I thought his pre-earth form was a homage to Orion pax.
