G1 Seacons

It's probably a little dumb what with the potential reissue of the Universe Seacons sets, but I recently obtained a Seacons set that is so MOC and MIB that it is near MISB.

Just wanna share my joy with you guys...

I've detailed this on my blog rather than write something really lengthy here so that I don't have to 'port it back on the blog site in case I want to in future.

5 chapters plus galleries can be found on HeroicDecepticon.com. Alternatively, follow the links below.

Chapter 01: The Auction

Chapter 02: Their Arrival

Chapter 03: Photogallery part 1

Chapter 04: Photogallery part 2 - The Toys

Chapter 05: Photogallery part 3 - The Details

Here's a preview pic of this beautiful set...

enjoy!

Nice find, but this really should be in the Toy haul thread :-P. I may get these guys one day but they are hard to find and as cool as they are, not a priority for me to get :P.

It's $278 according to the XE Currency Converter

And nice job on getting all of them! I prefer the original colors by far, so thumbs up.

Congrats on that find. I hope to get them myself someday, maybe if/when they come out for the Collectors Club.

Oh yeah, it definitely feels good to get something of merit. Me, I'm a sucker for G1 cardbacks and boxes. There's something irresistable about them.

Not the most logical thing to do i'm sure. For me, each acquisitions is a 'moment'. It's something that should be remembered rather than just going tick next to the box that says Seacons and move on to the next missing piece in the collection.

I guess, i'm documenting it to record such 'moments' and remember them.

Still, i'm not sure if this is the best time to buy this set. It's value would dramatically drop for sure if the Universe reissue Seacons are painted the same colours.

aww man, i'm so jealous, in a good way.

Thy look so sweet. I always wanted the complete set, but all i got as a kid was Nautilator. Which I still have, he's missing everything though. Claws, robot arms, gun, stand. but I still love him. Him and Micromaster Erector are all that's left of my childhood TF's, and I had quite a few.

Still congrats on the purchase. they really are quite a cool set.

That blows away the $304 loose but complete set I'm looking at... :(

Another n00b Seacon question... Other than displaying the figures in their weapon modes what do those weapon base & stands do? Because if I picked up a set of Seacons, I would want to display them in Piranacon mode (With Nautilator being held in one hand as the gun) the cheapest idea for me would be to look for the bots with their limbs & guns but no weapon bases, right?

Without those stands or bases I could probably get him cheaper than $304...

I think the hard bit and maybe part of the allure of the Seacons is to get them 100% complete, including the weapon stands. In many senses of the word, they are in fact 'complete' even without the weapon stands if you don't buy into the 'Targetmaster Seacons' concept that Hasbro was gunning for back in 1988.

One of the OZ Formers board members uses one of the long black gunstand posts in place of Nautilator's grey little gun when the guy is in weapon mode. It looks pretty wicked.

Without their stands, they wouldn't be considered complete and it would definitely be cheaper (maybe a lot) than a complete set. Totally agree with you there.

For a time, this is what I did with the gun stands.

Sorry, that's not from Masterforce, but from the Beast Wars Neo Movie. There are screen captures of them on this site.
