No, just scenes to support certain things that Optimus is explaining about the Transformers. I was expecting what you said, too.

i was curious if it was more than one battle. It confused me that it would show thing across tformers history but the figures it had were from g1.

Well, take in mind that G1 ended on TV exactly 20 years ago. Lot's of kids today were not even a sperm in their dad's testical back then. The DVD pretty much HAD to show the past 3 series in order to introduce the TF world to the kiddies. But they do have a nice gallery of the first wave of Classics.

And the Ultimate Battle toys are more Generation 2 based, if you ask me. :-?

G2 also featured the G1 television series, albeit with a new introduction sequence.

Yes, the Ultimate Battle is G2-based, as there is no other series with Optimus as a red semi truck and Megatron as a green tank.

Hmm...I'm willing to bet if Classics G2 Megatron was renamed Brawl and had been placed as a Decepticon in Wave 2, he would have been received quite positively by the community. He's not the proper colors for G2 Megatron anyway, although it's a stretch to term any sort of G2 colors as "proper".

And there is also a G2 purple Megatron. (Methinks this was before Hasbro decided to re-paint figures and call them Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, Dark whatever, and Nemesis whatever...)

I'm pretty pretty forgiving when it comes to promo DVDs and the like. Having said that, this bored me. Of course I'm not part of the target audience for it either though. It's intended to help explain the brand and part of its' history to people just getting into TFs. I think it does an OK job of that.
