http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Vehicle-man-tacti ... dZViewItemHas anyone bought these KO Alts before? Do you know the quality of the plastic they're made from?
You see, I intend on having a backup plan- if I can't find alternator Prowl or Jazz in good condition, I'd like to buy a KO to stand in until I can get the original.

i hear they are pretty good. i've seen some bash's that look really nice made from ko's.
they look pretty close to me. course i would only get them to bash them, but that my opinion. as with any KO

I've been wondering the same thing. THat looks pretty darn close to the real version. I want a Red Alert so I can make my own prowl out of him

I know the wheeljack/grimlock alt is difficult to transform, but man, they were really lazy with that one

Aye, but check the head and gun. Chromed parts baby!!!

That's good news. If they are indeed good quality, I'd buy them and get hold of a reprolabels set for each.

There's another seller on eBay auctioning a whole new series of KO Binaltechs, claimed to be in die-casts:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Transformers-Binaltech-KO-STREAK-Smokescreen-head-MISB_W0QQitemZ170167756533QQihZ007QQcategoryZ753QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemBidding starts from $1 (anyone interested please try to keep it low, don't go over $10 since he's charging international shipping $15)
Buy-it-now at $50 & some a bit lower (Ouch!!! don't do it!)
*** NOTE: I believe this is his first round of listings, most of his current listings (except two of them) are NOT MISB, please read carefully if there are box rips or missing/damaged parts on figures ***
Keep a clear head, don't get hyped up by these KOs, I might consider getting this Streak for around $10 and try it out *shrug*
Cheers,
Coolpop

$15 international isn't bad. Costs that to ship deluxes from the US to the UK.
Alternators all the way for me too.
I would place these at £10-£15 in value, no more.

The magical land of China! land.

I suppose technically, they should be good quality- they are all produced in the same place, and by the looks of things the producers are using the original molds.

There was a review down the forums once before. To my understanding, these KOs do indeed use die-cast, making them just below real Binaltech quality. Definitely worthwhile considering the cost of real ones right now, assuming you're getting low bid as opposed to a But it Now.

from the images, they look close to the actual figures. However, the Silverstreak should not have a Smokescreen head.

A friend brought a yellow Sideswipe back from the Phillipines for me last year, these are in fact BT KO's and not Alternator KO's.
In other words, they have die cast parts just like BT's.

I think I may have to make an exception to my no BTs rule for these then. The price is one of the few things that put me off of BTs. I take it they are indeed of a high quality then?

Honestly can't tell you about the quality as I haven't taken mine out of the box.

The white Hound in my avatar that is now Ratchet is a Binaltech KO. High quality KO in die-cast just like the original.

... I think that's why he pointed it out in the title of that auction.. "SMOKESCREEN HEAD"... lol

I could be wrong but I think that the recent Wheeljack, Grimlock and Prowl KOs are plastic while the yellow Sideswipe, white Hound and the Viper in black with the flame job that have been around for a while longer definitly have the die-cast. That's the impression that I got when the recent ones started to surface anyway

As long as they keep churning out the Prowl till I can afford it.
And they had better start making Jazz too.

I bought a KO Grimlock because I want to get the Wheeljack (haven't found one yet) to do a partswap and Reprolabel set and make it look like G1 Wheeljack. I haven't taken the grimmy out of the package, but I was told the plastic is more brittle, and he doesn't look like he fits together very well in alt mode. Otherwise he looks great.
