retools, or resculpts, as far as I know, these customs were only repainted..I could be wrong... and if that's the case.. I want some!!! Give me a big Green with purple on some of the legs.. and so on...

Come on!!!! these are cool!!!!! A Super heroes set from botcon.. just one.. just a cool and fun set.. no serious timelines, etc... no names from marvel, just curious likenesses, and paint applications.. so licenses don't get smooshed.. :grin:

So after all of you complaining about the Seekers and their respective price tag you'd actually preorder a superhero set? :P

it'd be a non-essential purchase anyway. of course, theoretically every TF is a luxury item but y'know, some are must-haves for a lot of people.
i imagine there'd be a market for a superhero themed set, but not one so large that it'd sell as a part of the main retail line. there's always going to be people who can't get the botcon sets who will be disappointed at missing out on them, but such quirky designs as we'd be likely to get would hopefully mean for less folks sad that they didn't get them. then of course there are folks who just want it cause it is rare, and they won't bother what it looks like.

how about an Avengers themed set? Not sure about molds to use, but I'd have them use the following characters as inspiration:
Captain America
Thor
Iron Man
Hawkeye (maybe another Energon Arcee repaint?)
Hulk
and Antman and Wasp as minicons?

Yeah I guess it takes all kinds when it comes to who actually buys the Botcon Merchandise.. and once again.. i don't hate Botcon Merchandise, I never said that.. I was only disgruntled over their choice or rather Hasbro's none choice when it came to the likes of the rest of the Cone heads and Thundercracker.. the repaint of Jetfire was okay, and the rest were fine with me too, even the Alpha Trion.. it was the seekers i took extreme issue with.. I wanted them because of what they looked like and represented..anyways.. I said all that to say..

I like Botcon Merchandise..and I think if its a quirky design and set that we aren't used to seeing and the less people buy them, then that's okay by me.. I just thought since this year is gonna be slim pickins on some stuff that a super hero set, without Marvel names or with would be cool..

Yeah that's not bad.. but who would the transformers be that are remade into them.. and not that crap we have seen before from Toybiz..but real Transformers just repainted into super heroes.. for fun..

Lets bring the fun back to the toys...

Still i'd love to get the Wolverine and Colocssus figures made like in that kitbash.. and then for kicks a Cyclops, a jean Grey, a Storm, Iceman, and Beast set... with a huge bot as Magneto villain!! that would rock.. and i would so do the fast ball special !!!

And don't forget, Hasbro has the liscencing rights to Marvel Characters now.

And I wouldn't mind seeing Hasbro take a cue from this spectacular kitbash:

I'd go absolutely Bonkers though for a Superman Bot!!!

using the x-men theme, an Iceman bot would be cool (pun unintended) if they did it in translucent plastic.

Come to think of it, Magneto's helmet does look a little like Megatron's.

you know what would be cool...

If they did a Botcon Set, and did a Back story centered around a group of Autobots that were fighting a Magneticlly charged Decepticon.. and the Autobot team just so happens to look like the X-men, and the Villain just so happens to look like Magneto.. and they could call it the Cybrtronian Super Heroes Set... That would be cool.. so it's kinda like Cybertron has their own super heroes.. LOL.. and it's fun, funny and a Homage to Marvel at the same time...

I really would like to see a Cyclops and a Beast, or iceman.. who would that be from Cybertron or Energon toylines??

Cybertron Jungle Planet Prime => Beast.

Cybertron Red Alert, Defense Red Alert, or Quickmix => Cyclops

Cybertron Sideways => Jean Gray

Classics Mirage => Nightcrawler? (He has the articulation!)

Cybertron Leobreaker or BM Snarl => Sabertooth

Cybertron Brimstone => Soaron (sp?); I'd say BW Terrorsaur, but that's already been done by Hasbro more or less.

Cybertron Scrapmetal => Brood

Cybertron Crumplezone => Abomination

Cybertron Megatron => Thanos

And of course, several of the Animated figures will probably be good candidates...

yeah, but that's not what I'm talking about.. those are Marvel and Toybiz toys.. what I'm talking about is just a normal Cybertron or Energon or some other figures that could be straight up repainted and placed in a Botcon Boxed set as a Super hero team from Cybertron..

Some may have likenesses to Marvel characters and some may not.. it's just a matter of doing the repaints..I wouldn't mind someone repainting an Autobot Symbol really Huge on the Chest of an Optimus Bot, and doing a Supermanesque Figure.. that would rock!!

the Marvel Megamorphs are actually Mechs that are made to be those characters.. which is fine.. but I just like the idea of taking ones that were already characters in the Transformers Universe, and doing a redeco.. and giving them a super hero name from Cybertron..

they Just-So-Happen to look like Marvel and DC comic superheroes as apposed to actually being them..

that said I still wouldn't minda a Marvel Boxed set..like the New X-men cover back in the late 70s/Early 80s...

with the bots in their repainted state jumping out of the white Box, and a Megatron/Magneto-ish characters floating int the background.. that would be interesting.. as a Botcon Exclusive it plays to the Transformers collectior.. as these are superheroes on Cybertron.. and it also plays to the Marvel Fan.. whose gonna be at the Ironman movvie premieres the day it opens.. good sales from that stand point.. and ofcourse there will be people who'd hate them.. who aren't into super heroes.. but there's always one or 2 haters out there no matter what you do..

Cybertron Downshift => Blade

Cybertron Defense Scattorshot => Punisher

Classics Jetfire => Iron-Man

Classics Megatron => Magneto

Movie Megatron => Carnage

Oh, I see. Well ... I'd still prefer the Megamorphs since they're a bit more origional than stright-up repaints. But I have to admit, I'd like to see a Cybertronian Green Lantern Corps / Sinestro Corps / Star Saphire Corps member.

That idea is actually the coolest I've ever heard.. and what's totally Bonkers is that the Transformers could concievably work in that setting as for G-1 and continuity, since the Corps are Universal and in Space.. they could have visited Cybertrona ns selected a Transformer to become a Lantern, ooohhh an AutoBot with a Power Ring would be awesome!!! And the green/Black and white gloves Deco would be easy to pull off!!!

Nice!!

And if you wanna go nuts, there's even an Anti-GL corps with a blue / black combo and nutty black light rings. They lasted one issue, don't be sad if you never heard of them.

Um, why? From your past posts I got the impression that you would never buy a Botcon swet anyway. :?

And, yeah, I'm not so hot for this idea of yours. Ark and Nemesis, yes. This is a definate no for me. I'd much rather see them give the Classics an Ehobby type treatment for the next Botcon.

With no disrespect intended to whoever did the kitbashes pictured in this thread, but this idea is for ass.

Every other day there's a million and one threads about how everyone hates repaints, and now we're advocating repaints into characters that have nothing to do with the TF universe. I don't know Skywarp-2, usually I agree with just about any idea you have, and maybe I'm missing something with this one, but I don't see how this is a good idea at all.
