Is MP Magnus coming state-side?

I've finally come to terms that Magnus will always be a repaint of Optimus, and since UM is my #2 favorite he's high on my "must have" list.

It's been rumored but unconfirmed for a while now.

I for one hope that the entire MP line will one day be imported along with THS, Sport and Music Label, and Robot Masters

I doubt it, but I would like to have it after all to complete the MP collection. However I do not want a downgraded Hasbro version. So here's hoping Takara will re issue it.

My friend told me that all of the early MP line have been re-issued except MP02, so I think he's the rarest of them all.

And yet, I've been trying to sell mine for like 3 months. Deadbeat buyers galore!

Honestly, why would you click "Buy it Now" and then ignore your emails? I can see regretting placing a winning bid, but actively ending the auction and then disappearing? Dick move.

Magnus isn't always a repaint of Optimus. I mean, I think RID Magnus was a different mold. Also, I think Hasbro said that animanted Magnus will not be a repaint of Optimus.

Anyway, hopefully, they will relese it.

I seriously doubt it but it would be nice if he did.

I still hold out hope he'll get a re-release with his trailer a-la MP-04.

But I'd expect that to be a Takara release.

If I had to guess, I'd guess we won't see him over here though.

I know the chances are zero for Megs b/c of what he is, but what are the chances for Skywarp in the U.S.? Ultra Magnus?

If they imported MP-04 here I would buy one. I want an MP04 for christmas.

I think the fact that we got a domestic (and properly colored) version of MP Starscream out of Hasbro at all is a sheer miracle, so I definitely would not hold my breath waiting for them to ever release Skywarp or Thundercracker.

Point number one: they couldn't even properly release those 3 characters in conjunction with each other via the Classics (Ramjet instead of Thundercracker) or War Within Titanium lines (Sunstorm instead of Skywarp), so there's no way they'd do it with more expensive MP versions.

Point number two: they have chosen to make MP Starscream a limited store exclusive and have also decided not to release or sell it outside of the States.

As for MP Ultra Magnus happening over here, I doubt it. If it was going to happen, it would have by now. Instead they chose to re-release MP Prime 3 different times (yet never bothered to include a trailer ala MP-04) and then wondered why it became a shelf warmer after 3-4 years of calling it "20th Anniversary".

The only other Masterpiece(s) that I could see them releasing domestically would be Grimlock and/or Soundwave - assuming Takara ever decide to make those figures. Archer already said at one of the BotCon's that he'd/they'd like to see a MP Grimlock, and a MP Soundwave would be a no-brainer considering how insanely popular the G1 Reissue was and how fast it sold out everywhere. Beyond that, repaints like Magnus, Skywarp, Thundercracker and obviously Megatron will remain as Japan-only figures.

all the more reason for me not to sell things on ebay.

But if someone does that do you then have to pay listing fees again?

i'd die for a Shockwave or Bumblebee, sideswipe, or Jetfire. Could you imagine a MP jetfire? That'd be insane.

I'd be far more interested in a MP Skyfire than Jetfire. I never liked the Robotech/Yamato/whatever design that they used for Jetfire. Plus we've never had a toon/comic accurate version of Skyfire. Classics Jetfire is the closest we've ever gotten.

Shockwave is #2 on my wish list of future MP characters. Soundwave is #1, Jetfire is #3, and all 5 of the Dinobots tie for #4 :) I'd want Soundwave to be the same size as Prime & Megatron, but Shockwave, Jetfire and the Dinobots to be at least 2-4 inches taller than those guys.

I don't want any Autobot cars released as MP's. That's what Binaltech/Alternators were for. Then again, if releasing new BT/Alts and calling them MP means we'd finally get Ironhide, Ratchet, Trailbreaker, Bumblebee & Cliffjumper - with all the same modern upgrades as the other BT/Alts - I'd be on board.

i don't hate the Robotech/yamato design, it was cool, but I do like skyfire's face/head better. More accurate to the cartoon would be the way to go. I'd love to make skyfire battle shockwave. (I don't have a shockwave though).

0% chance of MP Ultra Magnus being released in the US. Same thing goes for Skywarp and Thundercracker. It wouldn't make sense business wise. Prime and Starscream are well known iconic characters. Who outside of Transformer collectors remember who Ultra Magnus is?

i can tell you like to look on the bright side of things. MP UM reminds me of Prime with the solar radiation alloy metal put on him to stop the hate plague. I hope they release every one they can -no hope for Megs though, Walmart would nix that in a heartbeat.

While I agree on the Magnus being unlikely, If WM SS does well I'd bet we could see releases of TC & SW.

Who, outside of TF collectors buy $50 jet-robot toys? Maybe a few wealthy parents, but mostly it's us :D

For, what I'm guessing, are few others buying him a black or blue jet would be just as appealing as a white one. Maybe even more so.

I would buy him if they released him in stores.
