toys i like which others often (or might) scoff at:
classics astrotrain, powermaster prime (the reissue with armour), energon prowl, movie jazz, beast wars autorollers!!
PM prime only looks good as powered up version (god ginrai) but i love the versatility of that toy. movie jazz is easily my fave movie toy, I find the transformation simple but satisfying and he looks awesome in his white repain.astrotrain is a bit floppy but overall i really like flipping between the three modes. prowl, well he looks a bit weird (but then again he has 4 modes so to speak) but he has an odd g1 wheeljack style (soembody else pointed this out ages ago) whcih i really like. the autorollers, well they are rather fun and i like the later gen1 styling, even if they originated in gen 2 (well, 2 of the did).
oh and another is BW megatron t rex, i love the big chunky purple kibble, also the use of head and tail as arms is cool, many hate that but it does give some homage to the line that ultimately led to some TF designs.....henshin cyborg!!
whats yours?

Classics Voyager Megatron. Great design and I love the head sculpt.
Cybertron Shortround. Spiffing colours on a cute little design.

I think no one likes hated Transformers like I do. It's like I'm the only guy in the world who likes:
Titanium Soundwave: bitch bitch bitch. Let's all complain about a toy that really isn't as bad as we all want people to think we think it is.
Voyager Movie Megatron: the Leader version looks like the robot equivalent of one of those clowns you fill up with air and then punch in the face and it rocks back and forth but never falls over. But right, the Voyager version sucks....
RID Mega/Galvatron: yes, some of the alt modes are crummy, but robot mode is good.
Voyager Movie Prime: ugh, he has a backpack. Man, how ugly the backpack is and it makes it hard to stand him up. Damn, the 'scalpers' bought them all and now I can't have one. (Sarcasm and bad acting, I have V. Prime and like him alot.)
---perhaps my bad acting and not funny humor may remind ol' Leo of some British sitcoms....

---
Right, like the Deluxe BBs are so darn great. The old Camaro broke when you transformed it the first time and the concept BB is just junk, but Prime has a backpack and that's a travesty.
Classics Astrotrain: both alt modes look fake and silly? It's a ROBOT that turns into both a TRAIN and a SPACE SHUTTLE. That's not goofy at all.....
G1 Astrotrain: it's too small, it's not to scale......I remember it only being a toy and not a life-sized mock up.
There's like a million more. I seem to like what everyone else hates.

Back....
I like the G1 Pretenders! Hated them in the 80s, but I have a real appreciation for them as an adult. God forbid we have to use any imagination when we play with our toys....
Movie FABs. God forbid I have any fun playing with my toys.....
Movie Voyager Blackout. God forbid a toy is toy sized and not to scale....
Movie Deluxe Brawl/Scorpanok/Swindle/Dreadwing. God forbid I don't like Longarm. I think one of my biggest dislikes of the movie line has been that some people try to make it seem like if you don't like figure X you're not cool or a part of the group. What? I collect a large number of toys, am 29 years old and am a high school english teacher slaving away at a Masters in Lit. I'M NOT COOL! Longarm will not change that, and I'm fine with you thinking you're awesome because you like Longarm. Liking any of the figures I'm listing will make you cool, but I'm not going to beat you up with my hairbrained ideas.
I'll be back later. I like this thread.

I like Movie Deluxe Arcee alot, people keep on saying how damned ugly she is, she's anything but ugly to me. I love how proud she can look, and has a sort of regal beauty about her.

Who says that? o_o The only "ugly" part is her head mold, but you get used to it.
I feel like the only one that really likes Classics Grimlock, for some reason everyone hates his bot mode, but I never had a problem with it.

I actually like the Classics minicons. Actually, I'm just a sucker for miniature TFs in general...

I absolutely dig Movie Dreadwing, for he is a very weird looking TF unlike any other in my collection. I love quirky figures with weird stuff nobody else has and Dreadwing delivers with his totally out of scale lower body, the huuuuge noggin with the lens face, the bulky thruster arms and the way the legs fold into an unrecognizable tube instead of two very obvious folded up legs. He's got plenty of articulation, really nice detail and camo colour scheme and awesome firing missiles shaped like burstfire so that they can double as afterburners in his (very nice) vehicle mode.
Alongside Wreckage (awesome ninja swordsman, great look and articulation) and Scorponok (the fanmade "Monster Mode" is totally off his nut) Dreadwing is one of my favorite Movie Deluxes. Actually one of my favorite Deluxe-size TFs, period. Yes, I like him even more than 09 BB, who is certainly awesome but overrated due to his rarity.

G1 Pipes and Huffer.

I like them both for some weird reason.

I'm w/ Rushie on movie Dlx Scorponok, I love his painted details, like the various warning markings. Relly looks like he popped off Blackout's back. I modded his tail so it lays against his back in robot mode, much better than the original look. And that "dragon mode" is quite fun.
Now then, I guess I'll be the first to say it: I like Energon Leader Optimus Prime. There. I really like his combined mode, and his alt mode is cool, despite the cab's simple transform. The concept is great- he travels w/ his crew of drones who can explore the air, sea, land, and underground, and when necessary he can combine w/ them to kick some tail. His sound effects are pretty cool, too. Didn't like him at first, didn't want to like him, but he charmed me, what can I say...?

Nerf Gun Megatron and "ooh, i'm sooo out of scale and have a wanky train mode" Astrotrain.

seriously people, these are some of the best renditions of classic characters gone by. hey, G2 had worse colors than 'ol Nerfy here and they still sold like hotcakes right?

The entirety of Beast Wars toys!!!
There are some people out there who hate it, and I don't understand why?
Here is my advice, Watch an episode or 2, and buy one or two figures, it will grow on you. Trust me.

In general, Armada figures. I bought Prime, Starscream and Thundercracker & some minicons when it was out, and added Megatron a couple months ago. Sure they aren't well articulated, but I love their designs anyway.

I really really like Star Convoy. I know he's a total brick, but I like bricks! God Ginrai is another TF I will always love, especially the reissue.

Where toys are concerned, there seems to be more hate than love for Classics Rodimus, but for me, he turned out to be one of my favorites right up there with the Seekers & Bumblebee. I think his bot mode is completely badass *because* of the supposed tiny head - it makes his body look that much more built and soldier-like.
Where TF characters are concerned, I barely ever see anyone mention Brawn as one of their favorites, which always disappoints me. I think most people remember his crappy little toy version and initially equate him with the likes of Huffer & Gears, but I always thought he was one of the best characters created in G1. His 'take no ****' attitude, sarcastic quip remarks and fearlessness to stand up to anyone - including Shockwave who was 3 times his size - always made him a standout character imo. Plus I thought his voice was dead-on perfect to the personality that he had. It's too bad that he's become such a forgotten character over the years since I think he would have made an excellent Alternator and an even better Classic.
I also usually seem to be the only guy that actively remembers Reflector, and am disappointed that Hasbro or Takara never bothered to reissue him/them or give him/them an upgrade via other G1-ish lines. That's another character that could be made into an absolutely excellent Classic if given the chance. I've always wanted a G1 accurate version.

I have to second cellshock's thumbs up for Classics Rodimus. I think both his modes look spot-on to the original Hot Rod and he has some great poseability. And I never really liked the Hot Rod/Rodimus character in the first place(though he's grown on me as I've gone back to some of the comics and cartoons after 20 years).
Movie Voyager Megatron: The alt mode doesn't look very good, but I think as a robot, he looks very threatening and unique.
In fact, when it comes to the movie toys, there aren't any that I would say "eh, I could do without this one". Voyager Blackout, deluxe Brawl, the aforementioned Megatron, and deluxe Barricade all have some faults, but I love them all. The complex transformations and different aesthetics from your traditional TFs have just appealed to me since I bought my first figure. Those lens heads, though......eh, just can't get suckered into buying those.
Alternators Prime: He looks very good as a Dodge Ram and I like the overal burly nature of his stature. Sure, as far as Primes go, this was just doesn't do justice to his usual semi truck, but I'm thinking if you slapped on the name Ironhide to the side of the box with the appropriate Ironhide head, people would praise this figure.
