No known paint, ie lead paint, issues with TF's...right?

I haven't heard of anything but was wanting to make sure that TF's haven't hit any recall list for lead paint. Granted the vast majority of TF's are made of pre-colored molded plastic for the most part but was wondering.

I guess the Titanium line was my first thought. Still most of those likely are still in their boxes. I've seen very few open and when I do I get them for display. Which I suspect is how 98% of them are handled so if, IF there were lead paint on them its a non-issue, right? Cause how many people are sticking them in their mouths?

I did pick up a Cybertron Metroplex at a "fire sale" price($15) at Wal-Mart and noticed that some paint on this was chipped. Which got me thinking perhaps paint is a bigger issue on the plastic figs.

So is paint, specifically the lead paint, still a non issue for Transformers toys?

I wondered WHY chinks just keep using lead paint...after decades of whining about it...

Google to the rescue!

Lead paint is paint containing lead, a heavy metal, that is
used as pigment, with Lead(II) chromate (PbCrO4, "chrome
yellow") and lead(II) carbonate(PbCO3, "white lead") being the
most common. Lead is also added to paint to speed drying,
increase durability, retain a fresh appearance, and resist
moisture which causes corrosion. Paint with significant lead
content is still used in industry and by the military. For
example, leaded paint is sometimes used to paint roadways and
parking lot lines."

Aha... so leadless paint loses freshness and doesn't fight
corrosion thus making our expensive TFs looks wear out
faster!
No wonder my first Prowl's roof turned yellow and always felt
slightly sticky!

"Parents and Grandparents! Test all your kid's toys using our lead test kit.
Simply dab on the surface and look for a color change!"

Do they mean the test swab changes color or the toy's surface?? Airrr!

QFT.
Just for that we sgould pour lead in his drinks.
Anyhoo, even if TF's had lead, I don't lick them or anything, so it isn't a huge problem, but I'd suppose I'd need to wash my hands, whatever.
Recalls are for whimps...or kids under the age of 12.

Well to the whole lead-paint concept, there is actually some Transformers there was confirmed as lead-paintet, but it was only Mexican Transformers aka IGA http://tfarchive.com/toys/articles/mexican_invasion.php
I own a few of them myself :)

I think this whole lead thing is taking over a little to much. Okay, its really wrong to put it in toys for kids, as we all know they really wanna put the toy in there mouths for some reason. But as long as we dont do it we will be fine, and Hasbro has claimed that there is no lead in there products or something like that.

But well thats my oppinion ... I can tell that i was very afraid of lead in a period, but well ... i will not use my whole life to concentrate on a silly Heavy Metal called Lead :-P

 Just enjoy the damn toys, just dont eat em or lick em !

I would only worry about the lead paint if you are buying the Chinese knock-offs that are popular these days.
