The Finger for You

Having had a few figures with what is often associated with "highly articulated", "24 points of articulation!" etc, i.e. individually moveable digits, I have to say I find them overrated for this reason: they only have one movable joint each!

Leader Movie Prime, Ultimate Bumblebee, MP-Prime... I find it frustrating that with just one additional joint to digits II-V there would be so much more poseability to the figure. Hands being a favourite subject of mine, being incredibly expressive, I find having just one slightly curved digit not very useful.

Granted it may be better than nothing, but what really can you do with it? It just looks like so many moveable pincers. Especially regrettable are the nicely detailed fingers of Ultimate BB.

I hear that Unicron has two joints to joints to digits II-V, essentially having two functional phalanges. Can anyone confirm this for me? I eagerly await him in the mail to see what he can do, and I know what the first pose I'm going to put his hands through is gonna be.

Well you can pose Unicron giving you the finger, if that is what you are wanting to know :)

Yes, his fingers are all articulated with two joints.

Even MP Prime suffers from this. At least its better than just having all 4 fingers stuck together like Cybertron Prime but it's still annoying.

I made an extension for my MP Optimus's finger for just this very reason.

Just a little piece of styrene, painted blue to match, slips right on and off.

I noticed today while transforming my MP SS into bot mode that his left index finger is missing.

Could you explain a bit more about what you mean? From my reading, wouldnt the finger be really long now, with an extra joint and phalanx?

Cybertron Primus can move all his II-V fingers at two points each as well. The thumbs swivel only at the base though.
