Should there be a transformers replacement accessory line?

I say yes. Who hasn't lose that missile that went behind the radiator?

I got BW depthcharge and I lost all the weapons: shark rifle with missiles, chest discs, and sword tail. If hasbro released a replacement pack for it, I would buy two. It's because to the pwnage of a duel-wielding depthcharge.

The only problems I can think of is KO might buy those and package them in and pass the KO as the real deal. Also, some figures are more popular than the other, so unpopular accessories won't be worth producing for profit. The people who bought that figure would miss out. Plus, you would have to advertise what accessories goes with what.

Of course, hasbro can get around that by actually packaging the toy with extra missiles and doodads but the price will go up...

Any inputs guys?

There are online stores & ebay for this...
No point to it, do you know just how many Transformers have been released, how many little plastic missiles have been sold alongside figures, how many pieces have been lost down the radiator?
Not only would there need to be A LOT of packs made & sold per set, but there would need to be a lot of sets to give everyone a chance.

My input: not to my tastes & not likely.

You're rather negative about that Justicity.

When I was but a youngin', I can remember walking to Walmart,
uphill both way. Eager to spend some of my hard earned allowance on a G.I.Joe I glanced over to notice
the replacement weapons for many of my Joes, and several
I had never owned. Who cares they were weapons. Oh I bought some of them and my Joe's were well equipped.
They were not the original colors, but a mish mosh
of colors I thought were stupid, I bought them anyway.
My guys needed firepower.

I would love to walk into a store and find battle armaments
for my most worthy Transforming warriors.

Once again, the main problem with transformers resurfaces...
Scale.
Different classes have different sized hands & different styles of attaching weapons, hell this differs within classes! Look at 08BB & Arcee from the movie line. Even look at the two BB's from the movie, same style of figure, different hands completely. Transformers are not really interchangeable, unlike GI Joe's.
Besides, colours aren't so much of an issue for Joe's, they're all human (I believe). Whereas giant robots have a colour scheme to match too.

Another point, take out a few TF missiles you have around, look at them, tell me they are all the same length, shape & firing mechanism. I think you'll find they wont be. My Beast Wars Inferno missiles wont fit in movie Arcee's crossbow. Unless Hasbro make all figures from now on both weapon interchangeable & with similar missiles this idea is highly impractical.

Classics Ramjet begs to differ.
He's quite happy with Powermaster Prime's gun.
He wants more!!
Also the Energon weapons are usable by many as well.
Obviously obscure things like missiles would probably
not be best choice. But weapons for sure.
Heck while your making a new energon weapon, toss in the
projectile, or two.
I love oversized weapons on smaller figs. Makes me think
of Cable walking around with a gun the size of a Buick.

If Hasbro made standard fist holes and missle designs this would be a great idea. There could even be a nice armory set with unique weapons. But I don't think it's possible to make it compatable with past TF lines.

Much as I hate it, this is one of those ideas that looks great to collectors but would be rejected by a corporation.

There just isnt any money in it. Shame though, I am always looking for ebay lots of energon weapons.

The chances of one transformer's weapon(s) fitting another one are remote. I'm not saying its impossible as is the case w/ the aforementioned example above. I would have never thought Classics Ramjet could hold Powermaster Prime's cannons. But then again who would have? Anyways, there would be a lot accessory packs in order to cover the entire Transformer Toy line. If they released a weapons pack I doubt they would release them for a cheap price. Most likely you'd pay $10 for 5 rifles or missiles. The most economical way to do this is to release weapon packs according to the year of original release and then by faction. So for the year 1985 for example there would be two weapon packs, one for the autobots and one for the Decepticons. Another thought is to release them in categories: Autobot cars (year), Decepticon Seekers (year), etc. etc. Of course, this is all hypothetical since I'm not even an employee of Hasbro.

I would buy extra weapon packs. I know that there are size issues. But a little sticky tack, a little bit of sanding, and then they fit!

Funny that, you know, with Hasbro & Takara being big companies trying to sell toys...

It doesn't have much potential in terms of profits...

Mmm,i think that each toyline always needs some extra weapons\parts\some inventory,so its only question of time when Takara\Hasbro will produce such stuff

So we've talked about websites where you can buy accessories for your old G1 figures, like Wheeljackslab and such...

But does anyone know any place that would be selling accessories for more recent lines, like, say, Cybertron?

I need the pair of missiles for Cybertron Leader Megatron...

To be honest, I don't care much about G1...seeing as how I was born when they were out. Never played with them...although shuffling through the really old box (from dirty poor times; 25 cent candy was a luxury; must got them from a outlet store) we got that green helicopter from the movie, some yellow racecar, and a tiny blue jet. Lost the sword |:| and I think mom's gave away the yellow car. I don't remember having them at all.

I am more of a late beast wars era person. All I want is replacement parts (and remolds; mama gave away quickstrike, TS megs, and TS2 Dinobot). Some RId figures would be nice (need to complete rail racer, the powered up brothers, and scourge).

BTW: What website? Ebay is crap...

"That's not Entirely accurate".

Only the movie suffers from un-standardized hands and weapons. And even then, only some figures have the problem.

Bar a few exceptions almost all figures from Robots in disguise up to Cybertron and Classics, and including some Movie figures like Ironhide and the Target Exclusive scouts. Have standard fists, with standard peg holes.

Any weapon from any of the lines can be held by any figure of those lines.

So you can equip Movie Ironhide with Classics Grimlock gun. and equip Cybertron Soundwave with R.I.D Optimus Prime's Gun.

So a set of standard peg weapons can be made. However it is unlikely it would make a profit for Hasbro.
