question about movie Optimus (the big one)

The toy looks pretty good but the fender pieces on his legs are ugly and way too big.
Can these be taken off, and what does it look like with them removed?

There's some heavy modding in that though so don't think you can just unscrew and have that.. haha

I bought it last night and you're definitely right haha.
Got out my Dremel this morning and performed a little surgery. The only thing I can't figure out is how you got the wheels back on the legs. Superglue?

Don't have any pictures, but it looks pretty good. I also removed the huge "backpack" which makes him look about a thousand times better.
