Hey everyone, new here. I've been lurking this site for months, and only now created a account.
Anyway, I am getting about 300 bucks worth of Transformers for Christmas. I have actually already seen them, because I gave my parents a list of all the ones I wanted, lol. Im not a kid either, so its not for playing with or whatnot. Im a Tf lover and new collector.
have any of you gotten a crap load of figures for Christmas or your birthday?

No, hard to justify to anyone to buy me that many, so I buy em all myself

Though I am trying to get the girlfriend to buy me an animated figure or 2 when they come out, as a late Christmas present.

A few buddies and my girlfriend told me they're not buying me Transformers this year because that's all they've bought for me for the last two years! Time to find new friends

Not nerdy at all- it's geeky, but geeky can be cool. A geek is truly into something, perhaps something off the beaten path, but truly into it. I'm a 36-year-old husband and father, and I've gotten back into TFs in a big way since the movie came out. I buy nearly all of mine, and have mostly all the movie toys I want, so there's not much room for people to buy me TFs. But my birthday's in May, and if there are any of the new Allspark Power figs around that I don't have yet by then, that's what I'm asking for.
Enjoy your Christmas haul, please post pics of the pile!

Yes. But thats okay, you should be proud to be a nerd! I know I am. And yeah, I have gotten MOSTLY nothing but Transformers for the past few years.
Oh, and by the way, even though I usually keep the cards and boxes, I do take the figures out to play with them.

You could always compromise with your conscience by getting a woolly sweater and some chocolate.

Nope. The only reason I don't is because I don't want to get the wrong thing. And in the case of MP Starscream, I couldn't see my wife running around to different Walmarts trying to find one.

I don't trust anybody getting me Transformers. They either get me things I allready have or crap don't want.
I'd rather get giftcards so I can them personally

If i had my way i would be getting mostly tf's for christmas.
sadly, i dont get my way and will be getting none. I'm trying to bulk up the g1 portion of my collection, and my wife refuses to buy them because she knows i'm picky on condition.
The rest of my family just out n out refuses to buy me toys
Oh well atleast i know im getting a new camera

I'm limited to about £110 of tfs this christmas. That's about $220. Not a lot, but not a little either

So far, i'm getting mostly TF's for christmas.
TF armada Starscream, MISB (ebay auction, $40.51+$5.50 S/H.)
TF armada Scavenger, MISB (ebay buy it now, $8.99+$11.50 S/H.)
TF machine wars Megaplex, MOSC (ebay buy it now, $12.99+$5.85 S/H.)
TF G1 reissue e-hobby exclusive Blitzwing/Overcharge, MISB (ebay auction, $47.00+$7.99 S/H.)
Possibly more, too, but maybe not; my parents are not rich, and i might want something besides TF's.

I'm a 34 year old husband and father. I've been re-collecting since 2001 with my wife's blessing since she was a tomboy when growing up and played with TF's herself.
Since 2001 there have been many of birthdays and Christmas holidays when I've gotten a buttload of TF's. This holiday may be the first where I've gotten 0 TF's since there aren't any readily available in stores that I want.
I don't think it's silly at all to get mostly TF's for Christmas. If that is what you're into, it makes you happy and your wife and family understand that then it's a win win situation.

Nope!!! See my gf wanted to get me clothe's for x-mas. I said no! I dont like shopping nor I like getting new clothes. Not unless its a party I have to go to, then thats time when I buy clothes. So I told her give me the money and I'll buy it myself. LOL! I dont think its wrong to get TF's for christmas at all. It's your hobby and you like collecting them.

Getting TF's for Christmas sounds better than just getting bills. That's all I'm expecting, just the usual bills.
Better to get something that you can keep and enjoy than something that's gone within seconds and doesn't do your health any good, as in drink and so on. The usual Christmas fare in other words 'Drink, drink, DRINK! It's fun and socially acceptable! DRINK!'. Would rather have a new TF than waste money on drink.
Tony.
