I would love to meet the bonehead who thought energon combiners was a good idea

The Gestalts energon combiners had potentenal it just that somewhere between the design faze and the actually work version. These figures ended up sucking. I own all three of them 100% no missing figures and there are three problems I have with them:

1. when they are combine the smallest breeze will blow them over

2. they are bow leged which is the cause of problem one.

3. if get them to combine they will not stay that way because they don't lock together well.

Well that is my rant for this month. I'm sure there are people who love these figures and will throw there two cents in which is fine that is what makes america great.

I was confused for a second cause most of the Energon figs where combiners, and although they had some flaws, the idea of a alt mode, independent robot , and the ablility to become either the top or bottom of a larger figure is realy the essence of what Transformers should be.

I'd love to see the powerlinks idea moved forward.

That said, yeah, the Gesalt combiners, I only bothered completing one of them. They flat out suck!

The idea of just repainting the limbs was enought to turn me off, but hell, everything you said...

DEAD ON!

I don't recommend these for anyone :-x

I must be really lucky then because the only real problem I've had with my 3 energon combiners is that sometimes the little footings fall off....the ones made by their weapons.Besides that I dont have a issue with keeping them together or standing.

I actually like the energon combiners a lot. I have all three and all of mine stay together pretty well.

My only problem is the recoloring issue but I still think that the combined forms are awesome.

I've noticed problems 1 and 3 with G1 combiners, though.

Actually I have a harder time disassembling the gestalt.. They stick together pretty well and are pretty sturdy for me..

Actually , it was a GREAT idea. How does the idea of movie combiners work for you? Gets you excited doesn't it?

They link up quite fine. Actually isn't the gimmick of the entire line having to do with link-ability? It would be pretty sad if things didn't fit together well. I've actually hurt myself taking them apart. :-x

- Constructicon Maximus is okay for what he is, but not as a Devastator repaint in the classics line.

- Superion Maximus = AWESOME.

- Bruticus Maximus = I don't like the way the tanks look. I never actually held the figure in my own hands, but it looks like it would link up okay. As far as that goes ... basically the same "core" design as Constructicon Maximus.

I wouldl ove to meet the bonehead who didn't like these figs. :P It's okay, you're entitled to your opinion(s).

Mine are good.

No problems.

They needed real hands for some of them though, especially Superion.

Jeez, sometimes I get the feeling that fans could be handed a solid gold G1-cartoon-accurate Devastator with extreme articulation that walks, talks and actually transforms by itself while shooting real missiles and its owner's enemies, and yet they would still find something to complain about.

A) I prefer platinum
B) Obviously it would have to be proper scale.

Gold?

Devastator was green!

That's a problem right there.

I second that affirmation. We all have the things we aren't real pleased with, but from a lot of people's talk, Hasbro has been forcing us to buy garbage for 25 years. Forcing us, because clearly we must buy things with the Transformers logo on it, otherwise we'll be punished.

You do know you can give him G1 Superions hands, don't you? Or even an alternators if you're talented with glue and knives.

If you don't want them, I'll have them. I happen to love to Energon Combiners, and am working on getting all of them.

So far, I have two limbs from Superion, Devastator and one limb from Bruticus.

People complain about them, but at least you had a shot at buying them. Here we were offered enough random parts to complete one odd-looking gestalt. And still I had only ever seen one torso bot.

Mine stand upo pretty good. I think you might be combining them wrong, or positining the legs wrong por something

2. they are bow leged which is the cause of problem one.
That they are, but they still stand up correctly. And yes I also have all 3 of them plus all of the limb moulds, not all of the repaints mind you.

3. if get them to combine they will not stay that way because they don't lock together well.

I think you just don't apply enough pressure for them to snap into place, It takes a bit of force but they will snap into place and hold there at least they do for me.

Well that is my rant for this month. I'm sure there are people who love these figures and will throw there two cents in which is fine that is what makes america great.

That was my original intention.

Toys for children? ? Phhhhhhhhhft, what a stupid idea. We all know toys are produced solely for those of us who work jobs paying us enough to afford them.
