Your Guess of class sizes and what toys will return for Transformers the Movie 2?

I guess we could see a Leader Starscream finally, and maybe a different leader Prime?? Or could we get a scaled down but highly articulate Bumblebee, that's a voyager class??

Well, it really depends on Michael Bay really. When he decides which characters, and how many, we'll have a better idea.

Currently, I'm predicting that this years core Autobots will be part of the next movie line. I don't see a cheap cop out happening of upgrading all the surviving characters to give them new toys.

I can also see them releasing a more diverse Decepticon army with the next movie. Brawl, Swindle, Scorponok, and Bonecrusher failed as shelfwarmers. Most of the non-show characters are on their way there. So don't expect to see more unscaled (to the Autobots that is), mech beast, or no faced figures during the next movie.

I'm guessing we'll have more Voyager Decepticons next time around, and they will actually warrant being Voyager sized. Think Construction, Emergency, or Military. Kids love those kinds of vehicles and I'm sure we'll see more of them in the sequel. Chances are, there will only be two Con voyagers to replace Starscream and Blackout while Ironhide and Ratchet take up the other spots. However, if they replace Voyager Prime and Megatron, expect to see 2 more Con Voyagers for a total of 4.

Since Starscream lived, I can see them making a leader sized figure. There is a chance he may be bumped to Supreme Class, but I doubt it. He would replace Brawl in the assortment. Prime would retain his spot. Last spot would either go to a new character, or a new Megatron (with earth mode).

By this time, Real Gears and Scouts will be all used up, so don't expect to see either when the sequel comes out. However, there is a chance that new Scout figures may be created by Hasbro. Picture an Army of Frenzy's relatives....

On a personal opinion though, if they released combiner sets (in the movie or not), I think they may sell better as kids would want to complete the gestalts. Chances are that won't happen, but I can dream.

I think they will reuse the Bumblebee molds and the Ratchet and Ironhide molds, with maybe a Voyager Bumblebee... I do see what your saying and I think you may have hit the proverbial nail on the head with your guess...

I think they will be making new molds and just reuse the most successful ones from the first one.

I don't belive they will be caring about scale.

I think we can expect a Leaderclass Starscream, of cos Prime, and who ever takes Megatron's place, maby it's Starscream who'll lead the Cons?

I don't believe in them making a Supreame.

I hope there will be a leader class ultra magnus (not just a prime re-paint) *fingers crossed magnus will be in the next movie*

Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Barricade, Ironhide and Ratchet might have minor tweaks for the sequel.
Since the Concept camaro won't be a concept by then, GM might update it slightly, along with any new H2 or Topkick pick up designs in the next 2-3 years.

As for the new characters, I'm 99.9% sure Prowl and Soundwave will be in. Soundwave is a Megs loyalist and Prowl will be in to fight barricade.
As for the toys I think Prowl should be deluxe, Starscream a leader class to support his Hopfully bigger role in the sequel, and Soundwave might even be a voyager, though he should really be a leader class figure.( depends on what ALT he will be) I vote Leader class all the way though.

And if the dinobots are in, they might make Grimlock a leader class, Sludge, slag, snarl, voyagers, and swoop a deluxe.

If Magnus is released, he will either be a repainted Prime OR he may appear as how all the G1er's wanted Prime to appear, as a flat nose semi truck.

I can see the second option happening. It was previously argued that a COE semi would have made Optimus too short. However, it would make sense for his 2nd in command, Ultra Magnus, to be a little shorter than Prime.

Fanboys would rejoice at the chance to repaint Magnus into a "proper" Prime. More kitbashing = more sales.

In regards to Dinobots, that WILL NOT happen. Scorponok is a shelfwarmer, Dinobots will be too. Grimlock may sell, since he is a T-rex, but the rest will clog the shelves.

I hope we get a leader class Rodimus in Transformers 2, he already has flames so they wouldn’t have to mess with him! Really though, I sense a leader class Starscream, he’s shown flying off to go hide in the last seconds of the movie, they clearly have something planed.

I like the Prime as is in the Peterbuilt.. and i go back to the Custom painted one, because I love is look, but I wonder if Prime will get th classic color treatment in the sequels, hence just red with blue.. tat would be a nice tweak to the leader class..

ofcourse, they should bing in Jeremy ions and make him Doctor Arkeville, and have him make a Nemesis Prime from that leftover piece of th allspark as a clone of Prime, that toy would be cool:

A leader Starscream would totally be awesome, but if hy did a Magnus toy, I'd want a Truck with a trailer that makes him Huge!! In Leader class.. maybe Hotrod will show up??

It won't surprise me in the least if every returning character gets some sort of facelift. It's a Michael Bay movie. He'll have no qualms about changing things so they can sell more toys, and all the latest car models. It'll be like the Schumacher Batman films, where with each film Batman got a new batmobile and went through several batsuits, batboats, batplanes, just so they'd have more toys to sell.

They've already established the whole 'trans-scanning' plot point, so a transformer's alt mode is a much more dispensable part of their character. They'll probably have to pick up the characters where they left off in the first movie, so they'll be able to rerelease a bunch of the current movie toys in addition any new stuff.

I still only think a few of the 1st line toys will survive or get repaints for the sequel..

I expect that something will happen that will require the Autobots to scan new alt modes (perhaps even more than once?).

The Animated line is only having Deluxes, Socuts and Voyagers. I do not expect the 2nd movie to follow this trend. Leaders will come back for the movie line, nad there will be either Voyager or Ultra figures(perhaps even a midway point of the two).

I do however expect to see a Scout line or even minicons released for the 2nd movie, as those size classes always sell very well.

You might be right about the " that something will happen that will require the Autobots to scan new alt modes " thing, so Hasbro / Takara can earn MORE profit.

Dinosaurs, let alone Dinobots, sell well; they won't be benchwarmers. Especially if they choose to only go Grimlock, Swoop, and Slag.

This is an interesting topic....

It's hard to say about the returning Autobots whether there will be major tweaking or not. My instinct tells me there will be SOME changes, mostly in the newer vehicle models, but we won't see major changes in the 'bot mode of the existing Transformers. You don't want to completely redo existing characters which will only confuse viewers who remember the first movie and using existing prototypes frees up the F/X guys to concentrate on new characters, improving action sequences, etc.

So I think there will be enough changes to warrant a whole new wave of toys that differ enough to warrant plucking down extra hard-earned cash. I think Hasbro will also learn what has worked and what hasn't:

Leader class: Keep to about 3 figures, which will be be undoubtedly Prime, whoever leads the Decepticons, and a lesser character with great potential for a figure of his size.

Deluxe/Voyager: The heart of the line. Concentrate all efforts on these.

Fast Action Battlers or future equivalent: These are good toys for younger kids who won't get frustrated by the difficulty of the above.

Cyber Slammers/Real Gear/that T.E.C.H stuff/Protoforms: Peripheral items like Prime helmets are part of pretty much of any promotional lineup, so that kind of stuff will be there, but there were too many movie items that just really distracted from the movie characters who actually transformed. I don't mind extra stuff that's targeted for the little ones, but please, let's not go overboard with it. There was just too many of these tangent classes that few people seemed to want.

As for new characters: honestly, outside of a few people who post here and a few stragglers elsewhere, I can't imagine anybody else has fond memories of Ultra Magnus or Hot Rod/Rodimus. There are too many original charactes still out there to use before trotting out the likes of 2 characters that ushered in one of the darker eras of the Transformer history: the death of Prime and many of the original Autobots back in '86. If test audiences didn't want to see the inconsequential Arcee in the first movie, why would they want to see Magnus or Rodimus? I won't say it never will happen(I could see Hot Rod eventually coming out of the woodwork), but the likes of Prowl, Wheeljack, Mirage, Cliffjumper, maybe a tag team of Sideswipe/Sunstreaker would and should make an appearance first.

Also, though I like my Dinobots as much as the next guy, how can you feasibly have a mechanical T-Rex walking around after the first movie really stressed the "robots in disguise, robots secretly amongst us" motiff? And it would be pretty hard to scan an actual dinobot considering they haven't been around for a few million years...

...cut and paste my post from another thread:

"I would have the dinobots as transformers that came to earth in prehistoric times, but fell into suspended animation until being revived in the present day.

If they do them in any of the sequels, I would keep them as robotic dinosaurs similar in appearance to the originals, but that switch on a sort of flickering holographic projection to appear like flesh and blood dinos.

It would rule!"

Maybe the Dinobots are a little disoriented or damaged, or for some reason they lack the ability to scan new disguises. Anyway there's plenty of stuff that went without adequate explanation first time round.

I'd be cool with the return of the Voyager Ironhide, Ratchet, and Prime. All 3 are incredible toys. CC BB is a likely rehash candidate to. Like others have said, a Leader SS is a must. Maybe then we'll get a hall of fame thing with a Leader Blackout as well.

New Barricade though. The current sculpt is good, but compared to other movie figs it is lacking.

I agree a New Sculpted and Possibly Voyager Barricade and Bumblebee 08 would be a cool figure set, and this time with good articualtion adn seemless altmodes, to the best of their ability..that is..
