Hi,
When will there be information available as to whether there will be any Classics exclusive to Botcon this year?
Also, how much does it typically enter the convention. I live in Mass and would swing by if there were classics seeker repaints to be had.
Is there a limited nunber of tickets sold?
Thanks,
Bong

You should refer to the Botcon page...
http://www.botcon.comAnd there is nothing said yet. There is a limit to the number that you can buy usually one per package holder... They don't usually have much left over for drop ins...

Isn't it two per holder? You can usually get one box set and one bag set. Well, that's how I remember it.

You are correct, but depending on how many toys Fun Pub can get made for the event, there may be a limit of just one set to each person. We will just have to wait and see.

Ok, 2 follow up questions.
#1 Typically, how soon before botcon are the exclusives announced?
#2 Does it cost money to enter the convention to look around/buy stuff?

#1 The exclusives are always "officially announced" rather late, however if you keep an eye on Seibertron.com, we will have the auctions for the exclusive prototypes posted as soon as "Sticky-Finger Chan" lists them.
#2 Yes, it does. Although, it is not much. I think it was around $15.00 for a day pass to check out the dealer room. Won't get you any of the exclusives if you go that route, nor will you be able to attend any of the other cool events going on at the Con. If you plan on going, and want the toys, I suggest going with Primus and getting the box set, souvenier sets, and the free toy for attending.

Thanks for the great info. THi is the first Botcon that I've ever been interested in, thanks to the Classics.
So, what did you mean by "going wuith Primus"? Is that a special package? How much is that ballpark?
Also, how are the dealer prices there? On par with ebay or e retailers or are there really nice deals due top the nature of the event? e.g. Would I see something like MP-03 for a more reasonable price of 60-70 bux?

Primus is the best package. In '05 is was close to $275, in '06 it was close to $250. This gets you the box set, and the free toy for attending. Also gives you access to all the events going on at Botcon (such as Q&A Panels, games, Casino Night). If you want the souvenier sets, last year's were about $150 to buy at the Con, compare that to ebay, and it is well worth it.
As for the dealer prices, for the majority, they are slightly on the high side, but there are deals hiding in every corner. Have to understand that most dealers spend as much as they bring in at the Con every year.

I would only be interested in going if there was a Prime and or a Megatron exclusive figure like last year. Otherwise, it's not really worth it for me.

now how does it work for those that can't attend? I know they can buy the set but what about the other figures that tend to come out?

Ebay, that's all you can do. The souvenier sets and free figure are for those who attend only.

you have to throw down $texas for 'em.
So far for the '06 stuff I've spent around $500, and still don't have Megs or Waspinator.

Botcon has gotten really out of hand over the last several years. Even if it came anywhere close to where I'm at, I would never be able to attend and buy an exclusive at any decent price. They keep going up every year and now they're on box sets with a hefty price tag. Forget it.

yeah if it was in a central location or at least the same spot I could find a way to swing it but if you look at hotel+con+travel costs its just a bit too much.

I'm in pretty much the same position as Bonger. I'm going to attend Botcon this year mostly because of the classics exclusives (I still can't believe I talked my wife into letting me go).
So what you guys are saying is that you can pre-register and get the exclusives? That would be great as I won't be able to stay the entire weekend. If I'm wrong about this please correct me.

Hmm, since I just want the Classics, I guess there is no option but to wait and see what details are released in the next couple of months. Hopefully I can just stop by and pick those up without having to pay for a package. But, worse case scenario, I can just get the package and throw the items I dont want on the buy/sell forum and/or ebay for people who do not get to go. I hate mailing stuff out though. Don't ask why, I just...ionno.....

Oh, and for those of you coming to Botcon who are having issues finding any classics or titaniums. There is a major GLUT in every store that I have been to in MASS. So you should be able to pick up any you're missing here with no issues.
Heh, the Toys R Us in Salem, NH even has a glut of Soundwaves. Had like 15 on the shelf there for 3 weeks str8.

I wish I had a friend going so I could get the the souvonier sets. I don't like hunting ebay for them.

You may think that right now, but the dealers swarm like Locusts and purchase everything those stores have to offer. A week before Botcon last year I could've picked up any thing out on the market at the time. By Wednesday of that week however, there were only a few three inch Titaniums left at TRU, Walmart and Target combined. TRU didn't restock for close to a month. I can't complain too much though, on my way home one day I stopped off at the Walmart in Frankfort and picked up Alt Prime and Mirage.

Thanks for the tip. I'll make sure and go shopping before the sharks get here to pick up anything I want that I have been slacking on.
Oooh nice, and I just won an auction for complete G1 Rumble, Ravage, Frenzy, Laserbeak and Buzzsaw for 30 bucks shipped.
Sweetness, I now have 4 G1 Laserbeaks.
