Revoltech Transformers, Whose Next? Who do you want to see Made Next?

So for those of you Transformers fans who are also into the comics, and have always dreamed of a fully posable and comic type designed Figure of Optimus Prime and Megatron, well Revoltech is it!! Kaiyodo's masterpiece of Plastic posable and highly articulate figures are just what every comic fan would hope for in a small figure..

So far we have had:

Optimus Prime/Convoy
Image

Then his Repaint into Ultra Magnus
Image

then the Decepticon Commander himself
Megatron!!
Image

So now we know that the next wave of Transformers Revoltechs will include StarScream
Image

And the battle ready Rodimus!!!
Image

now I as you, whose next? What new revoltech figures would you like to see come out of Kaiyodo's toy factory? What figures do you think would be awesome with the Revoltech treatment?

could we possibly see an e-hobby repaint of Prime into Nemesis Prime?
Image
Image

I personally want to see a Revoltech Bumblebee, Grimlock, repaints of Starscream into the seekers, a correct ultra Magnus in armor..A Galvatron, and Soundwave!!!

I'm gonna go off the board and say Shockwave. I think he would translate very well into a revoltech mold. And I'm always down for Jazz and Wheeljack!

Im really not expecting many more to be honest. Kaiyodo, unlike Hasbro/Takara need only make make the most popular characters, and the less popular repaints will most likely be exclusives. I predict one or two repaints of Starscream (as Skywarp and/or Thundercracker) and that will be it, I don't think well see any more repaints of Convoy and we most certainly wont see one of Megatron or Rodimus. As for other characters we might see a few more but you have to remember this isn't a solely TF line so they don't need to delve any further into secondary characters and repaints to make their money, they have huge franchises like Evangelion, Patlabor, Macross, Getter Robo to milk too. Baring Evangelion which is both phenomenally popular and lends itself very well to repaints/remoulds most of these franchises have only received 3-6 figures each I doubt Transformers will fair any better than that. We might see a few more popular G1 characters but I'm happy to be grateful for whatever we get rather than indulging in flights of fancy.

Yours AK

I would certainly like to see Soundwave, Ironhide, Arcee and Springer molds but I am going to have to agree with AK.

Well, I agree and Disagree AK... See I think we have a couple of more molds coming from Kaiyodo... I believe that Evangelion, Patlabor, and Getter Robo has had allot of figures, but How many variations of One Robot can you keep making.. they have covered allot of ground already on Evangelion.. though I'd love to see the Angels get more focus.. and on Patlabor.. they have produced some strikingly good figures.. not that there are that many that are missing from the cast that has already been done.. they are gonna run out of bots soon.. I'm just hoping for the Ingram with the Bullet vest, that was always a cool point for me.. a Robot with a Gun vest..

I still think they can go forward with more molds, simply because Kaiyodo knows there is a T^ransformers fandom out there, who will buy them, and there are still plenty of popular characters out there to make.. Shockwave is a definite..
Image
I would think because of the Hugely popular Pat Lee art style which is still circulated there..Say what you want about Pat Lee, but I think his designs and art, have had lasting contributions to the entire Transformers universe, and not to mention the Revoltechs..

Do you believe that IDW's art would have spurred the Revoltechs??

But I agree, that they could aonly do so much, so i don't think this line will go on indefintely, but I do hope for a Wide range of figures before they drop the Transformers..

What ever happened to the Grand Convoy Prototypes that they had??

you have to order them online, just about any online retailer carries them, from Amazon.com, eBay to BBTs and HLJ... I've seen allot of them for sale on the net whilst looking fo rimages to compile into my Photobucket account.. they are still around and are very nice additions to your collection, though small..and non-Transformable..

I think we have 95% probability that there will be a Thundercracker and Skywarp

Although I don't like these figures, there are some that I couldn't leave on the shelfes:
Grimlock & the other dinobots
Scourge
Cyclonus
Galvatron
Overlord

Actually seeing as how they went off the deep end on evangelion, I would love to see that enthusiasm put forth towards the Dinobots, and them do all 5 that would be an awesome sight!!! Imagine 5 fully posable Dinobot Revoltech figures ready to fight.. man would my shelf be set up for an interestingly cool display!!!

I'm surprised they are doing TFs as much as they are. But you talk about how many variations on a robot...Super Robots (Getter, Mazinger, etc.) are more popular that TFs by like a factor of 10 at least. So these variations will always bring in big sales. Getter alone has 12 to 15 robots, and that doesn't include dark versions, training versions, etc.

I think Skywarp and Thundercracker are a given, but we'll see what is next. I personally do not like Revoltechs, because they feel cheap, but then again, they usually sell for $20 or less sometimes in the US, so that's is a pretty good price.

An official Jetfire would be nice, since they have the Valkyrie molds already...

Image

Would LOVE to see a Shockwave. Also, wouldn't mind the rest of the Seekers, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Thrust, Ramjet and Dirge, as long as they come with slightly different accessories or minor mold differences.

I think its a repaint/custom of the Revoltech VF-1S with VF-1J parts (i.e. rocket pack):

You do realize that will never happen for the same reason we'll never see G1 Jetfire reissued.

As for my earlier point I'm not saying we wont see any more TF Revoltech, we probably will but I do doubt we'll see many and what we do see will be few and far between. The beauty of Revoltech is it diversity and with the growing number of sub-lines like originals, minis, 2nd gen, Fraulein etc... that diversity is only going to increase. Just look at how many TF Revols have been released and the frequency, Convoy/Magnus in January, Megatron in April and these two sometime in early 2008, if thats anything to go by we'll be lucky to see one or two new molds before 2009.

I'm not saying they wont do more but I wouldn't hold your breath either or start wishing for obscure/impossible characters. We'll probably see a seeker repaint or two(Skywarp and/or Thundercraker), we might see a new mould or two further down the line in 2008, but I can guarantee they'll only be releasing popular recognizable characters that appeal to the Japanese collectors market, which pretty much means G1 big hitters only.

Yours AK

If they'd make Cyclonus I'd be happy. Brawn would be cool too. But yeah, thats just wishful thinkin. They aren't focusing only on TF, and those 2 TF's aren't exactly icons the way the current Revoltech TF's are.
