trouble with transformations: Deluxe Brawl and Voyager Ironhide

Hey everyone. This is my first post here! Anyway, I picked up a Deluxe Brawl and Voyager Ironhide last night, but I'm having some trouble with the robot transformations.

With Brawl, my problem is with those little flaps that apparently are supposed to hold the torso together. They fold out from the back on the sides of the torso region, and each flap has a little tab that clearly lines up with a little slot on the sides of his chest. But the little tabs don't stay in the holes, which makes it difficult to pose and display him in robot form. Any tips? I also noticed, right behind his head, there's a sort of cut-out space, and the turret has a flat black piece that's just a bit wider than that space. It fits in the space if I force it, but I don't know if it's supposed to go in there or not.

With Ironside, my problem (if it is a problem) is in the waist, where you have to do a sort of double-fold to line up his pelvis with his torso. The pelvis part snaps tightly into the middle flap, but when I try to do the second part of the fold and snap the flap into the bottom of the torso, it doesn't really snap into place. The result is that the torso doesn't sit level/perpendicular to the waist/pelvis, but leans forward at an angle, kind of like Barricade. Is that how it's supposed to look? Because in the instructional diagram, it looks like it's supposed to snap down more tightly, making the torso more level.

Any help will be appreciated!

Unfortunately, I haven't opened up an Ironhide yet, so I can't help you there. Brawl, on the other hand...

Are you talking about the two little flaps that his arms are attached to? If so, then that's a universal problem. All Deluxe Brawls have that defect, and it's pretty annoying. I just let the flaps sit there, unattached to anything. They seem to hold pretty well.

As for the space behind his head, I noticed that too. I haven't tried forcing it, though. I didn't think it would fit. Probly not recommended.

Click on the link ... and read that to answer your Ironhide question.

Brawl is a design flaw. You can use those 2 tab doors to secure his arms a little better. Also, you can apply clear nail polish to the pegs to get a tighter fit. No guarantees that it'll work well enough to live up to your expectations.

We all have to deal with the Brawl issue.

Ironhide, same thing ... they are all like that.

If you are unsure about this the best thing would be to go to Youtube and just key in "transformer name review". A picture is worth a thousand words; a moving picture with sound, two thousand!

Thanks, guys.

With Brawl, I was able to force that black panel behind his head partly into that gap behind his head. I don't think it's supposed to go like that, but it seems fairly safe, and it kind of helps hold him together.

On Ironhide, just push harder. It'll probably make a snap noise but it will be locked into place. That was probably the tightest tolerance I've ever seen on a Transformer ever.

Brawl's arms are a factory defect, the advice i can give you is what was given to me: Use a coat of clear nail polish on the tabs to make them slightly thicker, this will make them fit snug into the slots.

As for Ironhide, thats the way he is constructed, his pelvis will not be perpendicular to his chest, it sits at an angle.
