I found this the other day on Guido's home page and thought I'd check it out. Apparently I'm the only one with something to sell on there? It seems legit but I was just wondering if it was new or dead? If this is legit we should really start using this due to the demise of Carbomya.

Nice.
I wish they were selling toys of the mascot.
That guy seems awesome.

We need to find a way to make this auction site popular and get rid of Ebay and their crazy fees once and for all.

Lol.. I was browsing/searching for some TF figures on the net and stumbled into this site a few days ago. During that time there was only 1 Alternators for auction and nothing else, I thought the site was dead from being long abandoned. Now you've mentioned it again, I will go take a few more looks.
Cheers,
Coolpop

I'll watch the site for a few weeks and see if it grows. Already there are a few more figs posted.

I am pretty sure that it is an abandoned website as i first found it about 4 or 5 months ago. It had nothing on auction then and the Alternators that you have up on it are the first i have seen.
I guess with a bit of investment in auctions by users here, considering the demise of carbombya, might help it build some momentum. However the scam artists would eventually move in and this auction site would become no safer/better than ebay unfortunately, at least ebay has a track record of good business as well as bad.

This site has an enormous competition to beat and even when it does you're likely to get the fans all on ebay still looking for a bargain because all the prices on the new site will be community standard. That's always the problem.
But I do hope it succeeds.

I'll keep awatching. Ebay doesn't always have what I'm after, and I depended on Carbomya to get me the last few alternators.
So I'm awatching.

Uh yeah, TFAuctions has been totally 100% abandoned and DOA for almost a year now. I can't believe you JUST found it and haven't heard about the shady things that allegedly went on there.
Very questionable owner of the TFAuctionssite allegedly ripped off a TON of people, read up on it and you'll see why the site is dead:TFAuctions Alleged Shady Dealings CLICK HERE

I wasn't ripping on anyone dude, I was just trying to help. I don't want to see anyone here get ripped off, is that OK with you?
I wasn't even referring to you anyway when I said I couldn't believe he hadn't heard of TFAuctions, I was referring to the original poster. I quoted you because I was expanding on what you said in your post.

My apologies, i have found quite a lot of people on here being quite demeaning to others as of late and the 'uh, yeah' beginning to your post was misinterpreted, kinda of like someone saying 'duh' to someone else if you get me? Lol i guess i was kinda hypocritical jumping on it.
Anyways i read all of the information that your link directed me to and i have to say, even i don't like the guy that ran TFauctions. Sounds like he ripped off a hell of a lot of people, i can't even recall this being mentioned here on seibertron.com.
Strange

In all honesty, a Transformers only auction site is an excellent idea considering the demise of carbombya but the fiasco connected with this auction site has probably put an end to any such idea being successful unfortunately.
A Transformers auction site run by Transformers fans for Transformers fans would be good for a time but there are no guarantees against a few bad apples showing up and screwing everything up. Plus there is the competition, evilbay.

Yea, this kinda ruined it for me, cos I was thinking about something like that, but now I don't feel like doing it anymore, I don't think people would trust me after that guy screwed up.

No worries, I just don't want anyone here to get taken advantage of.
Like I said, the site is far from new. Its been up since 2005 if memory serves.
I don't know why it never got brought up over here, maybe he didn't cross anyone here?
What worries me the most is that huricane relief money he "raised". I'd like to think(and hope) the money got to those poor people. If he pocketed that huricane money, I can't begin to tell you what kind of slime-scum I think he is. I really hope I'm wrong about that at least.

See, you just discovered why it'll never work, and why Carbombya was shut down.
All it takes is for a couple of people to screw others over and it all goes to hell.
Love it or hate it, E-Bay at least offers some protection (you'll still get screwed over though) and they can do that because of their size.
Even if you were to get EVERY TF collector in the world to support a TF only auction site, it still wouldn't be enough to get the sort of protection E-Bay can offer.
And if people hate e-bay because of scalpers, don't imagine for an instant that you wouldn't have the same problem on a TF only auction site, because scalpers will go wherever there's a sucker.

So in short, dodge dealings on tfAuctions.com and Dave Ravenscroft.
He thinks he's releasing a comic. Not when he's screwing over the fandom he isn't.
Shame for those artists, but what can you do?
Ah well, back to ebay.
