I'm actually really excited about these. Love the cassettes - and a white Ravage is just tops! As usual, just shrugging off the cute pink packaging.

What a dumbass toyline.
Where's the cassette player to use them with?

The cassettes alone arn't bad. But, I still can't stand this line. I know, I know, we've been around the block about 1,000 times on this before, but, I'm sorry, it just irritates me. Going beyond the whole "little girl" thing, having a TF being kissed to gain powers? That's weak even for a Japanese storyline (yes, I know there's some other similar stories out there, but still). Looking at the box art, I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I see the girls smooching the cassette bots. Don't even get me started on the fact that Rosanna's a girl....

I agree about the lameness of this line and the whole "kiss power-up" idiocy, but I still want to get a KISS Hot Rod and add it to my Alt. collection.... I'll just get rid of the little girly-ness.

How do you say "These things suck balls" in a really nice way as to not offend everyone?

Weird and disturbing. Thanks again Kiss Players. Every Kiss Player released is another Trans toy I don't have to buy. I look at it as them saving me money by making crap.

I love how unhappy "Sundor" looks as he's getting kissed on the side of the package, kinda like an "I'm gonna eat your head" look.

Why would cassettes be used in a modern-day storyline? Other modern adaptations have featured the cassette Transformers in newer, more timely forms such as the "bomb" Laserbeak present with Cybertron Soundwave.

If this were an American release I'd just point out the G1CS Soundwave.

Maybe its because Soundwave and his cassettes are among the greatest transformers ever, and figures that good tend to get a timeless quality to them. That's just my opinion though.

I actually like the KISS line. It offers a completely different story line, which seems to be a little refreshing right now. How many times can the original story lines be done before it gets too old?
In a couple years we'll probably never see this line again and people will look back at it for it's originality, colorful artwork, and detailed figures. Enjoy it while you can. Don't be put off by the little figurines. They're only one inch tall and fit comfortably in the looming boxes, while you play with the articulate and well painted toys.

I have purchased the G1 Soundwave reissue and am very impressed with it.
It's a reissue, however, and has a certain retro appeal to it. It is permissible to use cassettes in a reissue with a 1980s feel, but in a storyline that takes place in modern times, it seems a bit odd.
In the opposite direction, it'd be odd to have Soundwave be a cassette player in a theoretical Transformers series that occurred in the 1940s.
