Book value?

Just a short question: I've noticed that the book style reissues of TFs don't seem to be selling for very much. Is there any special reason why they're still easy to get and not too expensive?

I honestly couldn't give you the correct answer, but you're right. I've noticed a trend with them, and they do seem to be rather...affordable.

My guess is this:

1.) They've been over produced and everyone bought one, so no need for another.

2.) The important, rare and most expensive book reissues have already come and gone, so all that's left is...Inferno. (lol)

3.) They re-release the molds every so often (like Ironhide and Ratchet, early next year) which kills the need for the book reissues.

Those are my guess there, I could be way off base, but at least they sound feasible.

Like AB32 said, overproduction. Many of these have been re-issued in the US, and then re-issued a few times in Japan, so some of them, like Inferno, Tracks, Prowl, Jazz, and a few others have been made to death...so to speak.

Some are still pretty pricey though, like the six set of minibots, the three insecticons set etc.

Sometimes it is hard to guage which TFC figure will rise in value. Prime was reissued several times, but his book style figure still sells high. Then again, it is Prime.

Stepper, a previously rare and very expensive figure is one of the easiest and cheapest bookstyle figs to get. :-?

Then the minibots come out, and they command a high price ($100 +).

I'm not exactly sure why some are valued more than others; I can only speculate on poor availabilty and such.
