Leader Brawl - what are these supposed to be?

On Leader Brawl he has a piece on his legs that flip out...what are they supposed to be? They don't mention them in the instructions and I haven't seen any pics of them out. Are they supposed to be blades, toes, nothing, what? Here's a pic pointing out the area the piece is located...circled in red, that thing flips out:

I think its support for the legs to help him stand up.
You can pull them out and they fold down something like the bottom half of a K.

They don't actually offer any real support...they would just fold back up as he fell forward. Maybe that could be their purpose cosmetically, but that's about it.

They're Brawl's Autobot orb-sackers, designed for those Voyager and Deluxe-class models he's too lazy to lift up his leg for and kick fully.
In all seriousness, I've been wondering this myself, and I really do think it's just a weapon for the little wee Autobots he can't reach or shoot.

You're correct on the whole "it's just a weapon" part. That's all it is.
Can you imagine being kicked by someone with shin blades? Ow.

Weapons. Kind of like on Barricade too. Although it seems starnge, if the feature is there you'd expect Hasbro to jump on it and advertise it on the box or in the instruction pamphlet, but nooo...

man... i so want that leader class brawl.. im just praying the local TRU still has him in stock come payday
...also.. weapons kind of like barricade?.. you mean the spring loaded arm? or have i totally missed something?

On Barricade's feet there's a little spike thing you can flip out from the top that the instructions completely fail to acknowledge.

oh, lol.. i dont think i even looked at the manual properly.. other than "ooh.. instructions.. purple.." always figured it was part of his transformation scheme..

Too bad they didn't turn out looking like those in that pic...
