Hi all, First post here, been reading the News etc for a while though. Awesome stuff :)

So, my question, is... How many of you order your Transformers online, And where from ?

I see some Ads on the side of the site, and perusing their wares, it looks o.k....

But are there any recommendations, favourites, places to stay away from ?

I'm interested in mainly G1 and Alternators at the moment... So any help would be greatly appreciated !

Hey, welcome!

I myself order some of the older TFs from eBay, the new ones I get in stores, but I do hear good things from Big Bad Toy Store - and I have had great business with digital-toys.com, though their shipping costs are a little steep.

http://www.bigbadtoystore.com , http://www.digital-toys.com, and http://www.tfsource.com are my personal favorites. All have great customer service and have been around awhile.

A lot of people will recommend BBTS. I've never used them because the cost of postage from the US to Australia is murder. But that is my only complaint and that is completely out of Joel's hands.

Alternatively there's HobbyLink Japan, (HLJ for short). They're great for Japanese releases and cater for the western buyers with their site in english.

E-Hobby is another Japanese store but it's catered more towards the Japanese market with the site mostly in Japanese.

-edit-

See, a lot of people recommend BBTS. Damn trying to work while posting. :P

As a UK buyer I go for ebay (but only for none current tfs and MP preorders), Xybertoys (look expensive, but the price includes postage) and Neon Martian.

I would have recomended Ellis Models too, but he's pulled out of the online tf selling business.

Hey wow ! Thats an impressive set of replies with exactly what I wanted, really quickly !

Cheers much Guys !

Living in Australia, Canberra in fact, I've found it hard to find people that carry the Transformers I want, when I want... Theres a couple of good Comic/Specialty stores that DO carry bits and pieces, but nothing reliable. Time is also a factor... Hahaa :)

I'm really only starting out my love of Transformers again, having loved them as a child, I'm now 22, with a steady job, and I've found this huge community, of TransFans online. So I'm looking to get right into it.. as time and money permits :P

But thankyou all again for the prompt and pertinent advice ! I shall be checking them out this arvo, and I'll let oyu know how I go ;P

$370 or so later at the BigBadToyStore.

:D

I shouldn't have, But I got the 3 toys I've been lusting after for ages. The 20th Anniversery Prime, Soundwave with Ravage and Laserbeak, and while not really a transformer.. The Voltron Masterpiece edition.

And all 3 of those were at least 20% - 30% cheaper than I've seen any equivelants here in Australia, including Exchange rates.

Now to trawl the rest of the forum I guess ?

Australia, ya say? Well then Uncle (Burn)ie would be the expert in hunting Transformers in your neck of the woods.

Or Auntie Azura.

But seeing as you're Australian, I still recommend HobbyLink Japan, alternatively if you don't like the idea of dealing with customs for Japanese TF's.

Transfigure Toys - At this stage they're still hopeful of getting Masterpiece Megatron through customs without the need for modification.

Another great source for TF's in Australia is CaseFresh. Daisy and co. are absoloutely great to deal with. Never had a problem with them and they often secure "exclusive" deals of sorts with Hasbro to get figures which other retailers (K-Mart, Big W, Target etc) have passed over.

There's also an Australian sightings thread floating around here, other sources for Australian based TF's are the two big Australian TF forums, OzFormers and TheyAreAmongUs (you need a Australian based ISP email address to sign up at TAAU, little "security" to keep folks like Fender Bender out :P )

And of course there's E-Bay Australia, but be warned, I will snipe you if you get between me and something I want.
