Quick question: is the art on the reissue boxes (both Takara and Hasbro) actually Dreamwave art, or is some of it new art in the style of Dreamwave.

The TFC Soundwave art is clearly straight from a DW poster/cover, but I'm looking at the TFC Hot Rod box and it doesn't look the same as the way Hot Rod was drawn in DW's comics.

Anyone know any answers?

the early boxart for the Hasbro reissues was lifted from the original toy boxart. However, when DreamWave became bigger, they lifted artwork from the comics and they also had them produce one shot artwork for the boxes and for the datafile posters and pics
