After reading several posts about MP-05 and the wait and anticipation, i felt that we should preoccupy ourselves with a little conjecture about the next MP-06 mold or Transformer. Now I know alot of us here believe that Takara/Tomy will probably recolor Starscream and reissue him, or reissue him as the other seekers next, or Rework the Ultra Magnus into a perfect mode that will include armor..

But, lets for for arguements sake leave that for MP-07. So with that placed aside, in the new mold category, who will be the next Master Piece Transformer? Will it be a Generation one bot? Will it be a Mastertpiece Movie Bot? Will it be from Beast Wars? Will it be an Autobot or decepticon? Lets place some bets here shall we?


MP-06:
Rodimus Prime...He's very Popular in Japan..where as Grimlock is Uber popular here in the US.

Gimmicks:
A Matrix on a chain, a small daniel in armor figure, and a hover board, complete with flame markings like th movie.and finally a transformable cab that has a large canon attached similar to this one found in iaconcity.com

Finally a Masterpiece Starscream (movie version) with cleaned up proportions, and his large arm canons could convert/vise versa, to hands like the FAB version..


What are your thoughts? How could you see them working the molds, and should the gimmicks be well worth adding to the toy?

Considering Soundwave's popularity he's got a good shot, but Takara hasn't milked every last repaint out of the molds they already have so that's probably what we'll end up with.

Personally I am hoping for something different, like Soundwave or the Dinobots. My personal wishlist would also include Constructicons in the MP scale that can combine to form Devestator. He'd easily be 3 feet tall but I doubt we'll ever see that.

MP-06 will be Wheelie.

great to see rodimus prime or grimlock but maybe they reissue again starscream (anime colors) with coronation accesories

I would love an MP version of Rodimus, or even Hot Rod. I like Optimus but I'd have to say I liked Rodimus more as the character seemed to have more depth.

I'd like to see Bludgeon!

It's probably going to be Anime Starscream (and the next couple will likely be Skywarp and Thundercracker) but as far as characters I'd want though, would be Bumblebee, Grimlock or Soundwave.

I don't see that happening though, as once they finish all the most important characters from the first two seasons, I'd expect them to go to Season 3, Headmasters, Masterforce and Victory. So I'm guessing in the future, we'll probably see Rodimus, Galvatron, Fortress Maximus, Scorponok, God Ginrai, Star Saber, etc. AFAIK guys like Grimlock, Jazz, Prowl and Bumblebee were more popular here than Japan.

Not that I'd mind those characters though, as I'd certainly get a Hot Rod \ Rodimus and Galvatron, and Fortress Maximus has always been one of my grails that I know I'll never afford (although I bet he'd be smaller than the original Fort Max).

A Masterpiece Shockwave or Soundwave would kick so much @$$ they'd have to orange cap them just to have enough to sell in Japan after all our preorders! To satisfy my want of a MP Grimlock (and need of a better Alternator one) I just finished repainting a Roadbot Land Cruiser but it just makes me want a Dino-Masterpiece more! My Jaguar XK makes a damn fine MP Ravage on the shelf so I want a Soundwave for him, too!

PS: For those who care, the Grimlock Roadbot is a little taller than MP Starscream so they work well against eachother on the shelf. Mastarpiece Bumblebee as a VW would fly in Japan where copyright laws aren't as stringent but importing it would be IMPOSSIBLE by international law. Sucks but true.

I am personally hoping that MP06 will be either Shockwave or Soundwave they both deserve a masterpiece.

Probability dictates a repaint, if we're luck with slight remold: anime screamer or another seeker, browning perhaps? (the orange cap on that would stink, too), Scourge (RiD), Magnus with a trailer? even if it doesn't become power armor....

But as for a new mold, I'd love o see...

If they did another Ultra Magnus with trailer it would have to turn into the power armor. It would seem like a waste otherwise, although it gives them an excuse to release another Ultra Magnus later on down the road that the trailer does turn into power armor.

Seeing your post for an RiD figure reminds me that RiD Optimus would be great if it weren't for the fact that he is already one of the coolest figures, plus he is pretty close to Masterpiece size already.

what other characters could be of mp scale and be repaintable? I guess grimlock could become a few other raptor/rex tf's....

most of what I think up would either be of binaltech/alt scale or not be repaintable.

Speaking of fire engines, I'd like to see an MP Inferno. (Almost as much as I'd like to see a Grimlock.)
