I was on Iacon city looking at the CGI renders and came accross Sentinel prime, IMHO he is the best ultimate version of a big badass Prime I have even seen.. is he from G-1? is he an expanded universe figure? what series is he from? Does he have a Toy? is it worth it to purchase him? Does anyone have a good link to images? please help me out.
Fot those of you who don't know what he looks like here is a link:

I only know of the Sentinel Prime from "The War Within" volume #1, but he died in the text's blind space so we never saw what he looked like (apart from what was, I assume, his hand).

I've never seen a toy like this, but I'm far from an expert.
The colorings and head shape remind me of Rodimus Prime. Is there a connection? Off to wiki!!!!
[edit] Wikipedia was remarkably....short. They only mention him as the immediate predesesor to Prime in holding the Matrix and that he was killed by Megatron, though he did not have the Matrix at the time.

They really ought to bring this guy into the toy culture.

I know, he would make a great transformer toy, his gold and red coloring are awesome, it reminds me of a Roman centurian for some reason. Not to mention If they did do it, I would like to see him in metallic coloring for the gold bits.. But please, please don't do him in titanium..

They
could bring him out as a toy, but I doubt the character's coolness factor (by many people's standards, that is). If WW is anything to go by (and let's face it, it's almost all we've
got to go by) he was big wuss; not much of a fighter at all, and certainly nowhere near Optimus' calibre.
Wasn't the Botcon Wreckers character (Armada Overload retool) called Sentinel Prime? I don't know if it was supposed to be the same character, though.

In the original G1 comics, any Primes that showed up for some reason bore a remarkable resemblance to Rodimus. I'm pretty sure I remember images of Alpha Prime who looked like him, and even Primus himself was quite the lookeylikey.
I think Optimus was something of a freak among Primes...

http://s90690880.onlinehome.us/jhiaxus/uscomics/theprimes.htm He's mixed in with Optimus' other predecessors, just scroll down till you find him. Sorry guys, no toy, just 2 comic appearances, one in marvel G1 and one in WW, and he died in both.

That was Sentinel Maximus, who was a fusion of Primal Prime and Apelinq, and so is unrelated to Sentinel Prime. Except for sharing the same first name, obv.

All we really know about Sentinal Prime is he was before Optimus and died at the hands of Megatron when Megatron was at the height of his power during the begining of the civil war.
Sentinal was a tough customer, however Megatron was more resourceful and upgraded beyond what Sentinal could handle.
I do like the Centurian look they gave his helmet though not crazy about the alt mode. All we saw was wreckage so design at this point is all speculation. If there was a person to ask though it would be Simon Furman.

Hate to break it to you, but those images were entirely a fan creation, there's never actually been a sentinel prime that looked like that, the guy who made it stated once that this was his take on a character who's only ever been seen a couple of times (once was just his hand) and used parts from some of his prime renders, as well as some things made up off the top of his head. I'm guessing he got the colours and some design elements from the old G1 comic appearance.

I'm not sure why, but I feel a
kitbash coming on. I'm sure it would be
complicated and it makes me wish I had the
skills. I just can't seem to put my finger on
why I feel this way, though. Maybe it's just
me.

I also like how he is a mobile missle launching platform that is painted bright red, orange, and yellow. You know, to blend in with all the real ones.

He's going to blend in with the runaway missile carrier from Blast Corps.

So where does Vector Prime come into all of this? Talking fan-cannon for the mo who thinks that he is an additional accient prime purely from the Trilogy universe? Or was he just forgotten in the other (G1) universe? Maybe he exisits in all realities but only made it back home in one (which we have seen)
lets face it his head does look a lot like the autobot symbol (and accually it could also be a nifty custom head for sentinal prime!)

This can only end in a huge, messy retcon. You know that, right?
Huh... Seibs mistransformed this guy, there's two little things that flip up so that his chest isn't as obviously Omega Prime's crotch.

Er, I hate to be the one to break it to you, but unless they decide to make him part of Heroes or a subsequent show, nine chances out of ten his toy, if he ever gets one, will almost have to be Titanium... It's the only line that would reach for this type of character.

ARGGGHHHH!!!!!!
Well, shoot, I guess its up to Transtopia wizards to get a kitbash, or or something together.. is there any way to get the word out and get one done. I would definately pay for a Masterpiece Sized Sentinel prime, based on those designs.. I think he's freaking cool. So what if he's a red and gold Missle launcher, who says that missle launchers have to be green camo anyways?? I mean what if he was on a red and gold colored part of Cybertron..LOL
Anyways.. i like him. I thought for sure I saw a similar Transformer from the Japanese toylines.. that turned into him.. I was certain there was a release.. maybe I'm thinking of a different character.. anyone have word on this.. it was almost just like Sentinel prime, and it was a missle launcher transformer.. though not sure it had 2 missles..

There's also been an ink & color of Sentinel Prime. The headgear is a bit much, but otherwise he's pretty killer.

I know Sentinel from my Legacy of Unicron book. He passes Prime the Matrix in that one box in the corner of the right-hand page.
I would love the see this Prime in future lines. Give Optimus a break, let Sentinel do the job.
He would make a brilliant Titanium figure too.
And never try to combine tf lines. It's mind-boggling.
They all contridict each other.
As for his resemblance to Rodimus, most of the Primes looked like this except for Optimus. They were all meant to resemble Primus, and Primus looks verrrrry similar to Rodimus. At least he does in my booky...
sentinel prime was in the cartoon

In Five Faces of Darkness when Rodimus was havin his dream sequence about cybertron's history in the matrix, it showed the matrix being passed from leader to leader including an unnamed orange autobot who passed it to alpha trion after he got shot by megatron... who in turn passed it to his newest creation, optimus

Its relevant and it aint posted here so..................................................................................S.Prime is gonna appear in the Megatron Origins book as the Prime-if this spawns a series of prewar books then we could definatly see a S.P. crop up somewhere.
Oh and just while i think of it, was Optimus a galdiator in the Dw canon? I was just thinking about WWI and he really doesnt seem the type.
Excuse the spelling, it is really late
