Movie Deluxe Barricade

CAR MODE
Best deluxe car ever, the detailing on this Saleen is fantastic.
TRANSFORMATION
Nothing too unusual, fairly easy. Swing out sides of the car to form the arms, Split the rear end and connect the waist under the car, fold down down, split the hood in half, flip up the head, eject Frenzy from the chest (no spring action here) if you wish and unfold it and you're done.
ROBOT MODE
Looks very nice, the arms are spectacular (especially the hands - 3 fingers and one moveable thumb), gimmick is okay (left arm extends when you push a button), but the main thing is, Barricade is a pain in the ass to pose. It's top heavy and the legs cannot be straight, ankle joints are a bit loose. Head doesn't turn either. A bit of a let down in robot mode, but I've seen worse.

He looks good. Have you got any non-movie toys to compare it to size-wise? Maybe a G1 car or Cybertron deluxe?

There are a fair few movie toys I liek the look of, however Barricade really isnt one of them. That robot mode is nearly as aweful as FAB Megatron.

Barricade actually looks better to me than some of the other movie figures I've seen, but I can see the issue with him being top heavy.

meh, not bad, but I wish his joints were on a sprocket/ratchet type system which makes it harder for them to become loose and allows for more posability with top heaviness in mind..Not fond of the freakin frenzy thingy.. just seems kinda pointless if you ask me..

This is one of those rare bots, where the Alt mode is everything, and the bot mode is nothing.
Love the Mustang look. Bot mode however is *meh* in my opinion, can't really see any practical purpose for Frenzy either.
All in all, I'll just keep him in car mode.

Thanks for sharing, but a few tips: set your camera on Detail Mode, and turn off the flash. Make sure you have good lighting, though.

Are these it? Are they coming out with bigger ones? I guess I need better pics with less flash, to really see the details. Well, to each their own, but I"m not really impressed with any of these, expect Blackout and Starscream's alt mode only(which I'm trying kitbash his head and chicken feet.)

While Frenzy doesn't really add much (unless there are similarly-scaled human characters in the works for him to harass) but at the same time it doesn't seem to cost the mould anything either. It's a harmless wee addition that I'm sure kids will enjoy.
The balancing issue is a shame, as is the fact that he can't fully straighten his legs. Ah well. He's fairly well articulated, I like the gimmick, and I can't get enough of that car mode. He'll do.

Decent looks, but the main selling point for me is that he's a decepticon cop car. All we need is a Decepticon ambulance now... And no, Cannonball doesn't count.

Yes.
And The more I look at that robot mode, the more I'm reminded of those god aweful robot modes that a fair few of the classics minicons have.

Looks like an ungodly mess when in robot mode...and what the hell is that other figure...nasty! Best kept in car mode.

The other figure is Frenzy and turns into Barricade's front grill/engine. Barricade is the new Soundwave.

Car is great, robot is passable.
Since Barricade is largely a new character, he may be worth purchasing. I appreciate the Stunticon aesthetic.

are you serious? my impression is actually the exact opposite where I think most of the tf toys are lacking in the robot mode and not in the alt modes (way too many examples to list, which i would not bother here). but i can't agree more with you here that the alt mode of FAB barricade is obviously the winner over its robot form.

The Head, the hands and the pelvis bother me a tad, but I like it. :/

But you love the Classics Minicons! I've bought you some for Easter...
I'll probably buy this, depending on its vehicle size.

i love how someone felt that frenzy's transformation actually needed instructions.
