Molds that "You Can't Have Just One?"

Some people are very much
not the fans of getting repaints/remolds, going so far as to wait as long as possible to buy a new figure until they see how it'll be repainted. Then there's completists that would (and have) bought every incarnation of Armada Sideswipe just because they "have" to do it.
This thread is not for them. No really, go away.

This thread is dedicated to the general collector, the one just barely touched by the insanity of toy collection. Their total TF numbers are low, but there's just one or two molds that catches their interest. As such, they
must own every incarnation of that mold, regardless of rarity or limited production number or secondary market prices.
Of course, I'm not only the thread starter. I'm also a member!

(This purty picture was taken prior to the release of Repugnus, otherwise he'd be there too. But note the fixed Frito Bandito mustache, yay!)
Pics aren't a must, but do tell. What molds get you all hot and bothered, that you've gotta catch 'em all?

I don't think I qualify for this thread because I have a large collection and happen to really enjoy repaints/mold as long as I like the figure or character to begin with. Don't like A_Sideswipe, so I only have that one and C-Runamuck, because I like the Battlechargers. Anyways, one mold I love to death is the E-Slugslinger. If they released a thousand different ones I'd try to get them all. Same with the G1 Seekers or any of thier later bretheren, becuase I love the whole Seeker idea of like this strike force unit. Same goes for the Combaticons, so I have multiple Bruticus/Ruinations.
Outside of Transformers, I'm a sucker for clone/stormtroopers, and have dozens of them, for the aforementioned reason. I like the presence of strength and, well, presence that a massed clone, Seeker or Combaticon display exudes.

Whew, glad I'm not the only one on the clone troopers. Lucas has really figured out how to ge the most out of us fans, at least from our pocket books. In the olden days there was what, 3 Stormtroopers (four if they made the sand trooper, which I do not recall, and add two more for the Tie Pilot and AT-AT Driver except they weren't really Stormtroopers). Now, I do not even know how many I have. Probably twenty or more individual clone trooper variations.
But, that really derails the conversation. The only mold that I can think that I love so much I would buy multiples of is Classics Jetfire. I currently own 4 of him and would buy any re-paints I could. (In my defense, I have one mint in box, one out of the box, one for my son when he gets older [he's 10 months right now]. The other one? I don't know. I think I'm sick. More likely I have some delusions of selling the last one for $300 in a decade or two.)

Aww...I can't play?
How about if it's from another collection type?
Quite possibly, my first toy love is Street Fighter; which puts up at least one hell of a second place argument with Transformers...
Because each variation is a legitimate palatte variation to the character, I really do enjoy seeing the changes the color wheel provides.

That is a rather nice Street Fighter II collection.
The only TF related molds I can think of off hand are the seekers.

TM2 Megatron mold.
Love that thing.
Have TM2 Megs and Cryotek and even bought one of the KOs
I really wish they would use that mold again in Universe, a Green or Black Dragon would just make my day!
Other than that there is no one particular mold that I need to have every version of.
Though I do have 4 different versions of BW Dinobot, 3 BW Terrorsaur mold, 2 TM Terrorsaur mold, 3 of the BW Trike mold, and 2 BW Stegos but those are all because I just love Dinos in general, not because I'm crazy about the molds.

Any Rodimus/Hot Rod mold and the Deluxe Bendy Prime. Personally my favorite Prime mold besides 20th anniv/Masterpiece.

I hate recolours generally-the only one toy i have ever purposely set out to get both versions of is C-Redalert/Cannonball, i dig the mold and love the character of cannonball (dread pirate roberts!

)

i have a thing for minicons - especially the x-dimension recolours and i have all the micron booster packs. Help me i have an addiciton to the little bastards. Aside from that i have all 3 versions of armada thrust and tidal/shockwave.
G1 repaints to me dont seem like repaints at all - the datsuns and the seekers are all differnt to me because of all the differnt characters they represent and how differnt their personallies were.
For some reason i can not under any circumastance bring myself to buy a galvatron repaint. - only ever want to own one of each megatron mold, which ever colour i prefer.

For me, the only repaints I -USUALLY get are the Seekers. However, I'm a total sucker for the GeeWun Datsuns and the Sideswipe-style Lamborghinis (as opposed to Sunstreaker)

I'm a rabid completionist. For example, I have every Overload recolor: Red Armada, Yellow Energon, Blue "Ultra Magnus", and the multi-colored "Sentinel Maximus". And that mold's not even that good XD

If the repaint is for a new character I don't care at least it seems to have a purpose. Only repaints I've really hated was the powerlinx colors done in the armada line.
As for characters I love the Arcee Energon mold and its variations. Just need to get my hands on the Japanese Ariel version, and then Flare Up and I'll have them all.

Scrapmetals. Those wonderful little insects that reek havoc all across cybertron as it slipped to its doom. Truly a being of god.

If you ask me "Armada Demolisher" even truth hes function suck's a little ...
My personal favorite is the Energon Colored version !

I still hate redecolors a lot since i feel that they are a trick from the producent there wanna make kids buy a new "stronger" version of the figure, or cause they are too lazy too make new molds for a figures "brother".
But for Generation 1, it is all okay

Does it count if I haven't actually done it yet, or did it un-intentionally? Well, irregardless...
The Beast Machines Battle Unicorn mold. Got it for $3 from BBTS, thought "Eh, buying some stuff anyway, might as well, might be fun." Oh my, I love this figure! Loved every part about it. Shoot to a few months later, Target was having a clearance sale, and my brother picked me up a bunch of stuff. Well, in that bunch was Stockade and Magna Stampede. I love both those figures, and if they brought out another one, I might consider getting it. It would be cool to have a whole legion of basic Transformers riding awsome looking Unicrons, or have a a squad of gladiators.
The mini-bots(not the South American ones, or the exclusive ones, yet): My goal is to collect all the Mini-bot molds, which includes some repaints obviously, including G2. And even when I do get them all, I will also someday pick up the Takara collection, for the purpose of the Bumblebee with the new face.
Oh, and the Seekers. I might also think about collecting the G2 Smokescren mold. That is my favorite jet mold of all time.

I'm usually more inclined to get a repaint if it's of the opposite faction. Overhaul/Brushguard or Undermine/Repugnus, and yes even Sideswipe/Runamuck for some examples. Remoulding gets me almost every time though, especially when it's a sweet figure like Hoist/Longrack. Hasbro would have more of my money if they'd go ahead and take some of these suggestions for repaints, too.
Energon
Mirage as Scourge
Skyblast as Powerglide
Strongarm as Gears
Inferno as Ironhide
Demolishor as Landfill
Megatron as Thunderwing (just because I held out for Galvatron but never found one and STILL don't have this mould)
Cybertron
Armorhide as Huffer
Clocker as Windcharger
Sideways as Cosmos (The little guy deserves an upgrade!)
Unicron as Bludgeon
Optimus Prime as Motormaster (with two new "stunticons" that can plug into his arm sockets in super mode! Menasor!)

not quite sure that could be pulled off becuase there isnt a whole lot of distinctinon in my head between the current colour scheme and a new bludgeon themed scheme aside from the addition of green and red - but other wise the end result would still look incrediblyimilar to the currnet colour of the mold

Yeah, and I use my Unicron as Bludgeon anyway. But if they did make one, I'd be all over that. I'll settle for the rest of the Classics Seekers, though, Hasbro! And NOT in con exclusives.

I tend to go with the bw and bwII dinobots, the molds have made their way from the bw series to BM to armada. some are hell to transform, esp the stegosaurus mold, but they look great

The Alternators Subaru/RX-8 mold. Got them all. Actually, the whole Alt. line is a basically made up of four major molds.

No, you can't. My word is final on the matter. You know where the door is.

Amusing to see this thread didn't die a horrible death. I'm not one that starts a new topic very often, so it's an interesting little experiment. Could use more pics, though.
But, I was a bit lax in mentioning some others myself. Besides the BW Buzzclaw mold, I also have a complete set of the Cybertron Undermine mold, with the Japanese color variant and Repugnus on the way. I aspire to have all three of the Energon/Superlink "Lock" molds, but getting a new Cruellock and Doom-Lock at once is more of a pain than I imagined (and both got re-released at Family Dollar!). We'll see if I can ever get around to taking pics of them. I'd also grab any Scarem repaint, even if it was some ridiculous Lucky Draw figure, but the poor bastard's never seen the light of day since BW.

of all the figures I have(which isn't many), the only ones I'd really buy a recolor of are Armada Thundercracker(in fact I want the recolors really badly), Energon Rodimus as Checkpoint(it just screams badass), and RiD Scourge(the mold just rules) and I want its Prime reissue and the Magnus recolor.

I generally don't do multiples of one mold, but Cybertron Soundwave is so cool, I have all three versions. I also have three of the Sideways mold, one of them being Noisemaze. Don't have the mass production repaint though
