This afternoon when I entered my first import store ever there sitting on the shelf next to any laser optimus prime was the last reissue boxset of predacons in the store and without a second thought I bought them. They are amazing I have never held anything so sturdy in my life they felt like they were designed to last. So I would love to hear what your holy grail is and if you have gotten it or even set eyes on it.

My grail is Crystal and Black Hot Rod.

Shouldn't a grail be difficult to find? $155 and shipping will net you both Hot Rods on BBTS.
I was looking for a G1-reissue Optimus Prime last week with little success, but my Transformers funds have been depleted for a reasonable quantity of time.

My holy grails are G1 Fort Max & G1 Scorponok. Had Scorponok as a kid but it got given away with the rest of my TF's. Closest I've come to a Fort Max are pics on Unicron.com
Someday when I can be comfortable with dropping $1200 on the two I may actually get them. But for now I can only dream and drool.

My grail was Star Convoy and my girlfriend bought him for me off eBay almost 3 years ago. She paided more than $150 plus shipping for Tailand. Needless to saw she's a keeper (plus we agreed at the time if we broke up, she'd get to keep him!)

My holy grail isn't even something I could afford to buy, hell-I've never even seen one for sale. I just want to see pictures from every angle of a MIB Japanese G1 Reflector. Even better-TOUCHING IT!

My grail is a complete Doubledealer, though I don't have him yet.

Matsushiro Jetfire MIB. The patience of finding a C9 bot, then finding a box, unused sticker sheet, parts etc.
Macross 1/48 Low viz 1. Got two of them about 3 weeks ago.
Gundam MG Ex-S. Still need this badly...

Congrats Shortround!
Mine is/was Gen 1 Jetfire.
My friend tracked down a MISB old shop stock figure about four years ago. £200 felt like money will spent.
Needless to say that the figure is still MISB. I bought a Valk of the same model just to have one to play with

Without question it would have to be a sealed Trypticon. I got one for Christmas when I was a kid. I spent that Christmas in Arizona, and during the flight back to Albequerque, he kept going off in my bag under my seat making the flight attendents very nervous. Even at 30000 feet Trypticon brought terror. I can't remember for the life of me what the hell happened to him, but memories like that make me want it back even more.

I've achieved most of my grails by this point. Like others, I have a list I work from but there isn't much on it that's hard to get. Things like Dinoking, Dinobots, Overlord, Deszaras and Liokaiser are reissue pipe dreams for me. Of course crazier things have made it out of Takara so I can dream.

Mine is Trypticon too.

Is that all? I got him pretty cheaply on eaby complete last year... NO, you cant have mine!
He is good though isnt he.
I dont really have any grails anymore. I wouldnt mind G1 Scorponok n Fortress Maximusm, Punch/Counterpunch, and the last Throttlebot I dont have (Rollbar), but Im not desperatly seeking them.
I think Im actully quite happy with my collection, I no longer feel the need to spend stupid amounts of money at anytime just so I can get a load of tfs I never really wanted. I get a couple a month, and most of the time, they are ones I actully want.

I was extremely fortunate to find my holy grail of transformers! It's a 1983-1984 Vintage Takara Microman Gunrobo Diaclone S & W 44 Magnum Gun! (Pre-Megatron) It's extremely rare and hard to find. And esp. brand new and never out of the package! I had to pay a pretty penny for it, but it's an invaluable addition to my hugh Transformers collection!

Not sure if mine is qualified to be a grail but it's a MIB black zarak. I got a big dent in my wallet from getting it but I guess if it's precious enough and you like it that much, nothing else matters.
Did I mention the gf at the time almost left me because of it ?

DANG, Victory Leo is HUGE!! I mean, I knew he was tall, but he's a pretty big proportioned dude too! He barely even looks like a traditional Transformer when put in a group.
I acquired a couple bigger grails earlier this year, thanks to clearance. Primus, and 20th Anniversery Prime(DVD version, but it's still awsome).
As for my grails, it includes Fort Max most of all, Deathsaurus, Star Saber(in one form or another), BWII Galvatron, bunch of other dudes I don't have. I know I'll be able to get 'em all someday.
Heh, I actually acquired a smaller grail over the weekend. Classics Grimlock

.
Oh, and my biggest grail of all doesn't even have a figure, so I guess it doesn't count

.

Extremely old thread, but my two holy grails are Pepsi Convoy/Optimus Prime and Music Label Soundwave. It doesn't matter what version; I just really want an Optimus Prime that can hold my drinks and a Soundwave that plays my music.

Hate to break it to you K, but playing music from ML Soundwave is difficult. It requires a memory card which might not even be made anymore and from what I heard, is hard and specific on how you get it the files to play.

Yeah, at that point, you should just get a blue 3ds and slap a

sticker on it, since it too is a blue rectangle that plays music
(only much, much better, as it's mp3 player is really well designed)
