What is the typical EMS charge for an order shipped from JP, namely MP-05.

Hi,

As the title says. I'm being charged $42. Does that sound about right?

I could have sworn I ordered a couple of items last year from a different retailer and paid like $22.

If this shipping is a rip, can you recommend a retailer with unmod MP-05 with more reasonable shipping?

Much thanks!

I just paid $39.99 for MP-02 Ultra Magnus with tracking and insurance. Only took him 1 week to get here. The price was $29.99 w/o Ins & tracking.

Ah ok, then 42 does not seem bad as EMS includes trackign and 100 bucks ins. Also, megs seems to be larger and heavier than mp-o2 soo the cpl of extra bux makes sense.

Ok, now to place the order, and hope the gf does not ask how much it was when it gets here. :?

Thanks for the help!

Update: Have now ordered MP-05 w/o the ugly mod. 132 shipped. Apparantly it should be here in a week!!!! Can't wait

Wait... you're being ripped off...:o

$42 is way too much for EMS from Japan for MP Megatron.

MP-05 is 1/2 the weight of MP-01.

Check out this link, which includes the prices for EMS from Japan. http://www.post.japanpost.jp/english/fee/intel/ems.html

If you're in the U.S. you should look at ZONE 2 for about 1000 grams, which is Y2,400 (~USD $20.50). Even with a $5 handling fee, they're over charging you by $15-17.

My suggestion- show them the link and tell them calculate again. :D

:(

The store is Robotkingdom.com. It seems that they attribute this charge to their exceptional packing. I will email them right away. Thanks!

Oh wait, they are in Hong Kong, if that makes a difference.

quote: Even the smallest order, such as that for a sheet of decals, requires a 200g mailer. A typical order of 2-4 medium-sized items requires 300-600g of box and packing materials. For extremely large items, such as 1/32 aircraft kits, Perfect Grade Gundam kits, etc., the shipping box alone can weigh 800g to 1.5kg. Keep these weights in mind as you estimate your total shipping costs.

seems everyone uses high priced fantastic packaging nowadays. My last overseas item came bundled with japanese newpaper ads. Granted I also didn't overpay and the ads are a neat token to browse.

It will be a week but when my buddy ships my Megatron I'll post what paid for shipping though I might also get another thing in there.

Stormrider seems spot on with the estimate.

I've noticed alot of ebay retailers inflate shipping charges but never a regular online seller.

Hey as long as you can get him unmodded then its worth it.

Why is it her business!? I had to hide new purchases from my last gf(now ex) and my father.

Excuse me, both of you, it's my money, not yours. What I do with it is my business, not yours.

Can't these people let us buy our toys without constantly b****ing!?

Well its not that she will neccesarily SAY anything. The problem is, I kinda make about double what she does and lately 've been averaging about 4-500 a month on TFs and I feel really guilty......if she sees them enter the apartment. >.>
