Ok. I thought I would think that this was an ok figure when I got it and that my expectations would be bet, but I was kind of wrong, here's why.

When you take him out of the box you notice that he is big. Very substantial looking. Then you take him out and he feels pretty light, but diecast isn't neccesary to me, but anywyas it's not like Starscream that seems like a giant alternator. Then you look at him and see that his legs are thin and he doesn't appear as easy to pose as MP-01. So then you begin to transform him to see if it was worth it.

There are a lot of joints on this and it will all go tightly together, but you have to be patient. You can almost figure the transformation out, but will probably need the instructions to verify that you are pulling the right thing and aren't going to snap it. The ransformation is intricate, I wouldn't call it difficult, but very detailed. You will need to put him on the table when transforming him the first time when you detach the mid section, because you'll be focusing on one area and the top will flop over when you're midpoint through transformation. When you start getting close to finish, you realize it is just like G1 megs. THere gets to a poin in the Transformation to gun mode when it looks exactly like a giant G1 Megatron and you suddenly realize that this thing is a work of art.

At this point you snap it together in gun mod and look at it in awe. That mechanical thin in your hand is now a solid looking object. Then you transform it back to robot mode and appreciate it even more. The thin legs dissapear from your mind. It is just a marvel of a transformation, now looking at it, you see the thin legs and all the joints a part of this marvel of a transforming figure. It is different than MP-05 which was an amazing robot that could transform (and still one of my favorite because it is truly the best of all worlds). But when you look at Megatron it is not as a robot, it is as a process that makes a figure more than a figure, but a Transformer.

Absolutely. I got mine today and was blown away. Way above and beyond my expectations.

Even my girlfriend, who is not a fan, came home and imediately stopped and said, " wow, that is the most impressive Transformer I have ever seen."

Trust me this is bi, because she does her best to ignore them completely.

At least I can relate to someone. I'm gonna be in Mexico next week though! This works to my advantage though. How you ask? Elementary my dear Watson. MP Megs hopefully ships to the US & then to my house while I'm in Mexico. That way, I have no idea that he's there waiting & I don't have to get all fidgity over the fact that I'm in another country while he's im my room waiting to be transformed. See? It works out well for me. I hope..............

Same here. I'll admit the transformation had me really frustrated at one point tonight. I think it took us almost an hour to get it right tonight (my friend Q was over to check it out). Regardless of my frustration, it just made me appreciate the figure all the more. It is truly a marvel that they figured out how to turn a massive oversized Walter-P38 into a "Masterpiece" Megatron. I would've liked to have seen more die-cast on the figure but it is what it is. My only real complaint about the figure is that I wish they would have figured out a way to give us a "bonus" head somehow by having the classic G1 toy Megatron head. They almost did it as you will be able to see from one of my pictures tomorrow night but there's not a way to show his face when it's like that. Oh well. It is still an absolutely incredible figure. Definitely worthy to stand next to Prime.

Asolutely a worthy adversary for Prime. Hopefully we will see a Stock and Silencer emerge soon.

BTW, is there anyway to keep the red light in the usion cannon on w/o holding the button down?

My girlfriend did the same thing. She let's me have my own time and space for my Transformers, but when she saw MP Megatron, she said "Wow, what is that! That is cool!"

What can I say...girls dig guns... :P

Nope ... you'll get to see a large picture of my hand pushing the button down while I take a picture of the LED light in the cannon with my other hand.

Just got home from work. I'll start back at the Megs gallery here in a few minutes. I'll give the red light thing a shot and then replace the pictures that have my hand in them (cause I'm sure no one really wants to see my hairy arm in the pictures). Gallery should be online around 10 or 11pm central.

I wouldn't recommend this. This just broke the button on mine. I tried taking it apart because the button won't stay like it's supposed to. It feels like whatever trigger is behind the button snapped. I couldn't fully take the cannon apart because it feels like the front part is glued together. So I put it back together because it still looks OK. However, after I pushed the button back out, it somehow got pushed back in while I was putting it back together. The LED light no longer works on mine. And yes, the batteries are in correctly. The LED stopped working before I took it apart after I felt the button push in to far.

I totally envie all of you who have mp05 Megatron I ordered mine from Digital Toys and they are not to suppose to get them untill the 15th of April which means that I probably wont recieve mine untill the end of April or the first week of May.
Damn frustrating the more I hear about him and the more photos I see the more impatient I get I really want him like yesterday already but I suppose been forced to wait for Megatron will make me that much more appreciative for when I do finally recieve Megatron.
In the meantime I should be recieving war within Megatron within the next few days.
I have also preordered the revoltech Megatron and he appearently should be released in Japan somewhere around the 15th of April as well and I am really looking forward to recieving him as well.
Anyway for all of you who have Megatron already cheers to you and enjoy him and hopefully I will be recieving mine within the next 3 to 4 weeks.
