Hi,

So as you have probably noted, your MP-03 has slots in the head for a crown. So I was thinking, how awesome would it be to make a crown and scepter per The Movie?

After thinking about this for a few weeks, I think this might need to be made out of Brass, or maybe even something golg/gold plated.

Who better than a jeweler? Could you imagine how nice this would look. Gold with rubies would be crazy. However, maybe something gold plated with fake rubies would be reasonably priced.

So does anyone have any expertise here. I was thinking, maybe if some of us got together and pooled resources, we might even be able to get a good deal from a jeweler.

Maybe a little crazy, but might be worth shooting the idea around. You never know till you try right?

It's a great idea. The only downside might be the cost. If it's too expensive, one might be better off buying Cybertron Supreme Starscream, using his crown, then topping it off by giving MP Starscream a brass fire poker.

Maybe you should walk into a jeweller's and just find out if it's possible and what the cost would be.

I'm sure its possible. Hmm, have you tried Cybertron Supreme Starscream's crown? Doe sit fit the holes?

I hate going into palces to get quotes if I am not planning on buying the item.

However, I cannot think of a cheaper way to get a worthy crown.

Have you seen any MP-03s anywhere online who have been crowned?

Good point. I don't own Supreme Starscream so I don't even know if it's pegged or if it just rests atop his head. Someone here will have it, though.

I haven't seen any crowned MP-03's anywhere, to be honest.

Same here. I tried googling one up but no go.

However, I refuse to believe that noone has crowned theirs yet!!

Wouldn't it be easier to cast it in plastic and use some cheap $2 fake gems?

Sure it may not be as shiney but neither's Starscream with that flat colour scheme.

Well, the reason I brought up a jeweler is that they are used to doing little intricate custom pieces. However, from what I have read, casting is very expensive?

I wonder, if some of us here with greater liquidity pooled our resources and had a mold made, if we could sell enough off the site to pay for the mold expense.

Or maybe its just really late at night and I am coming up with harebrained ideas wghile half asleep lol.

I can see a custom jeweller piece costing more than casting an actual mold.

As for getting a mold made. It's feasible. There is that site that makes and sells things like the Golden Disks but i'll be damned if I can remember it's name at the moment.

Although a custom crown is pretty awesum, i got a few mates who are metal work sculptrers and i used to go to school with an apprentice jeweler, ill talk to them

Unicron.com. (they also made the Unicron stand) And yeah, I suggested using Supreme SS crown, but someone said SSS has a massive head.

Personally, I'm just making one out of cardboard and painting it gold. Same with the shoulder pads. It'll be alot lighter, cheaper and wont make MPSS top heavy like proper gold/brass would.

You know things are bad when you're running a 1440x900 resolution and your screen gets stretched.

hehe i've been thinking on this one for a while, however, i would need a MP Starscream first XD

also, yeah, Supreme SS's head is HUGE XDDD

Good to know about Supreme Starscream. As I only have G1/G1 related figures, I wouldn't have known.
