The reason I ask this question is because I have just picked up a few of the g.i. joe 25th Anniversary figures, and I notice that quality control is ten times better on these than transformers lately. So what do you guys think has hasbro started to negalete transformers in favor of some of it's other toy lines.

I think they are probably made at a different factory where the QC people are just more concientious. Generally things like QC are driven more by personnel than by Coporate Policy. I'm sure, as far as Hasbro HQ goes, they would love to have 100% perfection with every product and did not send down a memo to the factories telling them to let TFs slide, but do a really good job on GIJoes.

I think that it's also easier to QC Joes. They're typically smaller and less complex than a TF. Except for minicons.

I guess but really how hard is it to notice little things like you have two left hands or the left foot is were the right foot is. These are things I have noticed people complaining about when it comes to transformers lately.

I disagree with your fundamental assertion that Transformer quality is on the decline.

Plus, it is hard to deny that the movie figures were rushed out of production fairly quickly to coincide with the movie. That probably had some influence into any current QC problems; however, as far as movie toylines usually go, Transformers is aces.

I don't think it's fair to say that the TF fandom is being relegated to secondary status based on the quality of the movie line. Besides not being a very high end line to start with, it is a line of movie related toys so they need to be produced faster and in greater quantity than a normal TF series. Plus, the toys are not really of the highest quality to begin with, so QC issues just make the line worse overall.

Well all I can say is I hope that the animated and classics 2.0/universe series of toys has better quality control than what we have been seeing lately.
