You should encase him in carbonite. That way he will never be tarnished.
But then he could be missing a head, or a leg, or the assembler might have sneezed on him and there is a colony of strange germs breeding in his cockpit. You'll never know unless you open him.

The question is, why would you want to NOT open him?
I mean really, you didn't spend all that money just to stare at the box now did you?

Yes, out of all of the MP seeker molds so far, Skywarp is the best.

Let me just start off by saying that my collection is about 50/50 MISB/Loose.
Having said that, what exactly did you spend your money for if you are not going to open him? You could have saved a lot of cash by just buying my SW box. I'll seal it up and put a brick in it.... $10 shipped?

If it doesn't have a window, I don't see the point of keeping it MISB. Some TFs look so good in their boxes that I never got around to opening them. Keeping boxes with no windows sealed seems a little assnine to me.

The real joy of owning a Transformers toy is transforming him.
You can't do that if you don't get him out of the box.
Might as well go buy a jetfighter scale model.

Skywarp looks so much better freed from his box.
So yeah, open it.

This is one of the sillyest questions I've ever heard.
I mean hell, you can pretend you have one sealed and one open concidering the box has no window. (Though why anybody'd wanna to that is beyond me.)

Prime said it best, "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings".
A cardboard prison no place for Transformers.

Wouldn't it be the same if he's caged in a glass cabinet or display case?
Like fish in an aquarium.

No.
See, if he was in a glass or display cabinet he could still be viewed.
As it is now, Skywarp cannot be viewed as the cardboard box is completely closed in, no clear windows to see him.
Secondly, in a glass or display cabinet he can be easily removed to be played with. MISB tends to mean he can't be removed at all, short of breaking the MISB seals and turning him MIB.

I agree. From our point of view.
But what about from the point of view of Skywarp? He's still be trapped in a glass cage. He has no freedom to roam around or even go to the toilet!

Looks at pictures on him of Seibertron, then decide if you want to open him then or keep him to resale possibly. For most figures I open I just keep the box in good condition.

Not yet. As soon as my office renovation is done. It's too dusty in here. All my other TF toys, and my collection of books, are now standing inside the cabinets, with newspapers wrapped around the cabinets.
But soon...

I think the dust would have been better. I mean you have left him in there without being able to go to the toilet. That'll be some big mess to clean up.

Haha. Nice one!
So far, no leaks yet down the cabinet.

If you're collecting with no plans to sell for profit, I say open everything you have. You may as well, it's not like keeping them pristine in box will do you any good when you're dead. It might do your kids some good, but unless your collection is massive there's a good chance they'd just give it away to charity or donate it to a landfill project.
