Do you keep Longarm's gun attached?

If you detach the gun, can you mount it without a screwdriver? Also the gun seems to keep the arm rather loose and weak.

There is a peg on there to grab the gun, but I'll bet it doesn't hold it too well without the screw in there.
It does leave his harm loose and weak, but you can pose him with it hoisted up on his shoulder (pointed up in the air). He really looks bad ass that way.
Mess around with him, I'm sure you'll find a few more poses. Maybe we can turn this into a pic thread or something. "The official longarm pose thread?"
One of my favs from the movie line. Very awesome deluxe figure.

Cool, that' what I just did. I love him too, I love his head sculpt, I actually leave his doors angled and open in robot mode rather than clipped against itself as it says in the instructions, so they look like wings too (Arcee, Bumbles and Longarm all have wings!)
I love his bio too. I can see him making friends with a lot of Autobots

The gun came off his right hand about 45 seconds after I opened him up. It pegs perfectly into his left hand. I also hang it over his right shoulder for cannon mode, just flip the barrel around and grab the lower edge of the windsheild (his back) w/ the tow hook. Fiddle with it, it will stay on and it looks cool. Longarm is a great great fig.

I wrote the following on Longarm's Teletraan (TF wiki) entry:
"The gun is not meant to be removable, but is easily unscrewed. The loose gun won't fit on the right hand without the screw, but will peg into the left hand via the connection used to hold the gun/crane steady in vehicle mode. The figure is still capable of full transformation and the loose crane fits tightly in vehicle mode. It is however difficult to transform him while keeping the loose gun attached to his left hand."

When I had the toy I did in fact remove the screw that held in the gun to his hand. But when I sold the toy I put the screw back in. I don't like drones very much.

I just keep my longarm the way I bought it... I kinda don't want to unscrew anything because it might mess up, even though it won't I just don't like it.

Such a great figure. I think I like him better than some of the actual movie bots.
I really dig his proportions and colour scheme. He's got a badass head too.
Gun is a bit big and clumsy, and truck mode isn't a perfect match to the movie. I would've preferred if they hadn't screwed on the gun, but I'll let that slide. Awesome figure.

And the funny thing is, his personality would've made a great character for the movie itself.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who did this. Nothing beats a Predator bot.

Actually, I detached it. And saw in a thread elsewhere how it could be turned into a small gun emplacement when removed.
