Hallo, recently I recieved the G1 Optimus that I won on eBay. The blue on his trailer is a lot lighter than the ones I have been seeing online. Can anyone help?

All the G1 trailers I have personally seen are of a darker blue.

G2 Prime trailers are much lighter blue but obviously the outside of the trailer is black instead of grey.

I don't know if that info is going to be much help to you or not. :???:

Show us some pictures of what you are talking about. Do you still have the box? That is another tell-tale way to see if it is a KO or not. Cheers. 8)

The box wasn't included in the auction, and do I really need to take a pic? It is simple-the blue is light

A pic would really help here. Also does the blue on the trailer match the dark blue on Prime's legs??

Not sure if this site has anything on it, I havent visited in a while, and didn't feel like digging in tonight, I can spend hours looking at their stuff, but it may have a bit on trailer variations.

It should be dark blue, but I've seen some slight variants.

I guess the had to make more than one batch for this guy.

I'd check the date stamp to verify it.

That wouldnt really tell you much. Some of the bootlegs have the old dates on them and believe it or not I know of at least 2 G1 figure reissues [same mold] from both Hasbro and Takara that have their original 80's date stamps.

Well the G1 Prime on display with a different colored Prime trailer looks like bullshit, so I ordered another trailer (with roller, I can use the nozzle and **** from the light blue trailer) with my Christmas money from ePay. BTW, does anyone know if it's common for an original G1 Megatron's hinge holding his head/arms to his body to be somewhat (ok, VERY) loose?

Yes. The original G1 Megatron toy is a loose toy by nature (including that hinge part). I believe the mold for that was made in 1974, so the technology wasn't as great as it is today.

I found these two sites that claims that the light blue trailer is a legit variant.

http://www.geocities.com/futuristgroup/vprime.html

The one site says that it's a pre-rubsign version.
