Classics Grimlock

What are the chances of Hasbro making a different Grimlock figure? The Classics one stinks!! It doesn't even look like he did in the cartoon. They need to get his size and scale right too. Grimlock should be bigger and taller than Prime. If he is in fact in the next Transformers movie - I hope they get his toy figure right. Like he would have to be a Leader class. I'm still waiting for Hasbro to release some more of the movieline in Leader class - like Bonecrusher, Blackout, etc. I really don't understand why they don't try and get things closer to scale. You can still stay true to the cartoon and be realistic with real life scale. Like Starscream and Blackout - they are NOT taller than Prime or Megatron.

I wonder why you're not ranting that Unicron should be made as big as a house.

I guess Unicron and figures like that don't mean much to me.
Obviously there are exceptions to every rule - but I'm specifically talking about the main characters we all know and have grown to love. I've always been interested in close detail with action figures. Some people don't care as much I guess.
I sure hope an amazing Grimlock will be released sooner than later. Maybe a masterpiece?

The only Grimlock we know of that is going to be released any time soon, is Animated Grimlock.
Dino ModeRobot ModeI however, while having issues with Classics Grimlock, and his flaws, do like him, and do think he fist quite nicely as an updated Grimlock.
If only his flaws weren't so flagrant.

I wonder why you're not ranting why the others don't look like they did back in G1.... That's their point, none of them look like they do in G1, grimlock isn't supposed to, prime is not, megs is not, bumblebee is not.

First off, the seekers look pretty much like their G1 cartoon counterparts. That's three (or six) of the line who kinda blow that "they're not supposed to look like G1" idea away.
Second, yes, the toys were modern takes on G1 characters. But most od the others differed from Grimlock by not being sodding awful. Grimlock's classic form was nothing like him in either mode. Too small, too scrawny, and why is his robot mode upside down?

I don't care much for Classic Grim's Gene Simmons boots, but other than that he's pretty cool. And don't get me wrong, Gene's boots kick butt and all, just not on a robot action figure. Although, maybe if the teeth were longer making them more platform-esque and accurate...

Yeah,
trying to argue scale and using Unicorn to support your view doesn't hold much weight.
It doesn't REALLY bother me, but it is too bad that scale isn't taken into consideration more than whatever it is by the creators/company.
I understand peoples' frustrations to a point because let's face it,
whether you're just displaying your collection, or actually playing with the figures, these groups of characters have been presented to us having personalities. So if they are suppose to "interact", then faithful representations would be nice.
On the other hand, I know there are a lot of "ins, outs, and what have you's" that consumers don't know about, and to a point, we're lucky to have what we have.

Its not if you assume they used Pretender Grimlock as the inspiration.

When did these pictures surface? This is the first time I have seen them. They are quite interesting.

Those picture surfaced during botcon of last year. Along with the upcoming transformers animated slag figure.

The sword is incredible. I can't wait to see the final color of it. Does the sword attach in alt mode?

Dudes, while looking at animated Grimlock in alt and bot mode again I came to folowing conclusion:
That is G1 Grimlock!
Look at it, it has everything, the transformation, the arms and legs and chest, his tail splits up and folds onto his legs, his dino chest becomes his wings, his dino groin becomes his botmode chest, it's just in the animated art style.

Yeah, knowing his G1 transformation, I felt like I started seeing/figuring that out the first time I saw his dino-mode.
Looks like he'll be a kick arse toy.
Can't wait to see him dressed in color, and hopefully they don't do anything too funky (SS's colors make me worry a litte).
But from the looks of Bulkhead, Prime, and especially Megatron, it doesn't seem like they're going to throw some random, totally non-G1 (or Animated show) color schemes on any of these figures.

At least not 'til the repaints.
As for the Classics not being to "scale", I'm fine with the way they are. Remember this is Classics, not G1. The only problem I have with scale in Classics is that the upcoming triplechangers won't be to scale with Astrotrain.
And I think Grimlock looks fine, except for the shoulder problem ofcourse. The only way I would like to see a new classics Grimlock is if they made one with all the other Dinobots and they could combine to form the Beast, or whatever it's called. Besides, I don't think Hasbro would do it. There's already Classics Grimlock and Animated Grimlock coming. Why make a third? And if you don't like them, maybe you'll like
Energon Grimlock. He seems the be more like his G1 counterpart. He just needs some weapons.
And as for the Seekers, what else are they supposed to make them look like? They classics are supposed to updated, realistic, reimaginings of the G1 characters. They couldn't make them Cybertronian jets because they're not realistic. So they have to make them Earth jets. And what kind of model jet are they supposed to use? An F22 like movie Starscream, or a F15 like G1 Starscream? The choise is ovious.

Finally!!! Someone who agrees with me that the Energon Grimlock mold looks more Generation 1 than the, imo, poorly redesigned Classics version
I realize that not everyone had shoulder issues with him. Some were lucky and got a nice, tightly transforming Grimlock. I was one of the unfortunate ones, so I have a slight bias against him.
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the name of the combined dinobots was Dinoking. I'm
not 100% on that.

Classics Grimlock is bigger than Prime. You are confusing the size classes.
Get deluxe Prime, stand him next to "deluxe" Grimlock. Wa-LAH!

There are many names for that Gestalt, dinoking and the Beast are the more recognizable ones.
I like classics Grimlock, i'll just fix his shoulder pads, but if they would ever decide to make a new version for Universe, which I think is just as likely as new Seekers, they should just make him bigger and redesign his legs so that he looks like he has legs and not just the fron of a T-Rex.

Classics Grimlock's design never really bothered me, but then again I don't personally own it. I just sit there staring at eBay drooling at all the Classics figures I don't have (I only have Cliffjumper

).
I'm totally jumping all over Animated Grimlock when it's released. I don't care if they paint it pink and cover it with glitter, it looks awesome either way.
