KISS RODIMUS-WORTH IT?

Really dig the look of this figure. Is it worth trying to get for $130? Is it metal or diecast?

Yikes! $130! So is there nowhere else that is still stocking this thing? I've been searching for it recently myself (being an Alt completist and liking the look/color of the figure), and everyone is out of stock right now....but is e-bay the only choice now?

Thats why I'm hesitant to pick him up right now, maybe some store will get a restock of him for cheaper. On ebay he goes for more in the $150 range. Wonder how much he was when he came out initially, both in Japan and US?

No! Lord no, it's cool but not $130 worth of cool! I got it for $50 on eBay with $30 shipping from Fukuoka, Japan from a guy who said he bought it at 7-11 down the street from his apartment.

Oh, yeah, no diecast. It's (for lack of a better term) a Japanese Alternator with a pvc of a loli girl and a DVD. But it comes with a fishing pole that becomes forearm spokes and that's hard to top.

It never came out here, that's why people are asking stupid money for it. In Japan I think they're like $25-$30.

Yea, he's worth it.

Mine was $85, bought here in the States.

I'd pay max 60 for him. Not worth any more imo.

You can always try contacting: http://www.toywiz.com/hotrodimusbta.html

Supposedly they were on Pre-Order for release in April. It does allow you to add it to the cart but it does warn you that if it still says pre-order they may not have shipped from the manufacturer. The other thing I noticed is that it says BTA and not Kiss but it does have a black and white pic of Xiao Xiao.

I think $130 is a bit steep but it's all up to the collector and how much ou value it.

$130!! That's kinda ridiculous!! I'd say wait for him to come down, but I didn't even know he was in demand. Kinda hard to gauge. I thought I saw him everywhere at one point, thought he was the internet "shelfwarmer". :???:

I doubt Kiss Rodimus will go down in price at any point unless they start mass producing him again. He's been the hardest of the three to find. You'll see Convoy and Autolooper, but almost never Rodimus.

I guess they did have some available after all. Let me know when it comes in. I was interested to see if it was a BTA or a KISS.

Honestly (Even though I don't have them and someone can correct me otherwise) based on pictures prime is the worst of the 3. Autorooper is super badass and Hotrod is hot... So I'd go with an Autorooper if a Hotrod doesn't open up for a while. (This is for anyone else, who is wondering) Isn't Prime just a little bigger and have a different paint scheme and a surfboard?

Good God! I thought it was bad that I paid £45 for mine. $130? No way!

He is cool but not that cool!

Prime isn't any bigger. He has a few more paint apps, the surfboard/knife, and Melissa.

Short of a mirracle, the Kiss one would still be better, Hasbro just dont do paint apps the way Takara do.

thats quite true for earlier binaltechs. but looking at comparisions between the hasbro mirage and takara rodimus pictures... both look outstanding. and since rodimus uses more plastic than the earlier binaltechs.. i would consider hasbro would have a very similar product to the takara one.

I'm afraid you'd be wrong. I own both Mirage and Rodimus. The paint apps on Rodimus blow Mirage away. All Takara BT paint jobs piss on the Hasbro version from a great height. I know as I have both BT and alt for several figures.

For 130 dollars, hell no, but I have it and I love the figure, he's good looking, great paint job, but no or very little metal parts, but you can't tell. It's not heavy or anything unlike Black Convoy for 200$ or so, which I also have, now that's heavy, mostly all metal and nice detail.

Shop around, he's worth getting, but not for so much.

When Kiss Hot Rod first came out I think I managed to get 6 of them. I havent been able to get any since. I wish I had got more but I didnt think they would be so darn rare. Mind you, he is a great looking figure.

Autorooper is a shelfwarmer in Japan but not Hot Rodimus. He disappeared from the shelves in about a month. I can't imagine that his price is going to improve unless they re-issue him.

The only reason I can think of for this is that he is a new character. Shame really cos he is pretty smart. I thought they really liked the police cars out in Japan.
