MP-05 Masterpiece Megatron with Orange Barrel Plug

I have a few questions about Megatron.

1. I've known about him for a while and been waiting patiently for his arrival. What's taking so long? I looked him up and says he'll be out some time this month.

2. How do people on YouTube have him allready?

3. Why does a gun that f-ing big need a little orage tip and a warning lable? Come on, it's got large Decepticon insignias on it and you can't even wrap your hand around the handle to hold the damn thing. How in the hell does that look like a real gun? It's about twice the size of any real hand gun. In an adults hands it looked huge, in a childs hands, they wouldn't even be able to reach the trigger.

4. It doesn't really look that bad with the orange plug. In fact I can barly even see the tiny little thing on the massive gun.

5. $99.99  Optimus Prime was only about $50 with tax.

6. It seems only Takara will be reliseing him, not Hasbro. No matter what it seems I'll only be able to buy him online.

I haven't actully ordered him. I can't afford nor would I spend allmost $100 on a toy even if I could afford it.

Now if it's been out sence last April, where can I find it for around the same Price as Prime.

In your dreams, that would be the only place!
Thease things get more and more expensive the longer you wait, I mean it
After he was realeased his price went up from §60 to 80 in just 3 months!
That's the prob with thease things.

That's weird. Optimus Prime's price went down. If I had waited on him I could have goten him on sale for $20 and he started at $50.

I want Megatron so freaking bad. I can never complete my Transformers colection if I can't get him. Even the original Megatrons are hard to find cheap. I seen orginal G1 Megatron's with missing parts, and accessories with no Megatron that sell for way too freaking much.

I still gotta find G1 Galvatron too.

Dude the plug is the law. Somebody could mistake that for a gun and somebody gets shot.

Yeah. He's been out for almost a year dude. Buy it now for $100 ... or later for $289.53 + shipping, ins, and at LEAST 4% in paypal fees!

Your choice.

Also, if you were a cop ... and some random youth pointed THAT thing at you from a distance ... what would you do?

:::squint w/ hand over eyes to block sunlight:::

"Hmm, gee ... is that real, or do I detect an inkling of orangey substance on the end of that thing?"

Ohhh NoooeEEEZZ! An orange bubbalicious silencerrrRRR!!!

By getting Prime für 50$ you mean the Hasbro one, right?
You don't get Takara's Masterpiece Prime for 50$ and neither do you get Takara's Masterpiece Megatron (who will almost certainly not come out via Hasbro in the USA) for that price.

I just got this guy recently from Tfsource with no plug at all. Not sure how they went about that, but I'm not complaining.

Hasbro MP Prime. I belive it was $50 when my dad picked it up back in 2004. Was a graduation present. I seen them for $20 some time after that.

Allso thanks for making my point about the orange tip. Yeah that's really going to be noticeable. Allso if it's law to have the orange tip in the first place why the hell is the thing removable. The tip should be actully painted Orange rather than have a little plug that you can simply take out and can't even see anyway.

Pluse I still stand by my "it's too f-ing huge to be a real gun" if a grown man can't even wrap his hands around it and bairly touch the trigger, it's too big.

The original Megatron has the opisite problem of being too small. I haven't actully seen that one being held in gun mode but I'm assumeing it about the same size as the Optimus Prime toy and judging of him.

if you have trouble with the orange tip there are a few merchants around in the US that have an umodified version.

Imports are always more expensive to cover the overseas shipping. Masterpiece Megatron IS worth the $100 it's an awesome figure.

I've also heard it doesn't take too much effort to remove the plug if its an eye sore to you.

Hasbro has pretty much said Megatron will never get a state side release due to current toy laws.

Seriously though save up for the figure I promise you won't be disapointed.

And pretty much everyone will agree with you.

But if you were working in a shop and someone came in waving a gun at your face would you stop and think "hey, that gun seems a little bit large, it can't be real!".

Most people would probably be too busy panicking or trying to remember other details like the robber's face.

A little? No no no, that is noticably big. I don't care what the situation is, if you saw that thing and thought "Oh crap I'm going to die" then you're just an idiot.

That's not just "a little" too big. It's insainely huge. I highly doubt anyone would be able to hold that thing as if it were any kind of hand gun and make it look threatening.

Does anyone have a real P.38 and Masterpiece Megatron? I'd love for a side by side comparison photo just so we can really see how f-ing huge Megatron really is. Toss the original Megatron in there too while you're at it.

I'm amazed the little Megatron gun that comes with Optimus Prime isn't illegal. It looks like a real gun... except it's tiny as all hell. (Noisy Cricket)

Well back in the 80's a kid got shot and killed by a NYC police officer when the kid pointed a G1 Megatron in gun mode at the officer in broad daylight.

I know a lot of people concider this story a "urban legend" but I'm from NYC and I remember the new's reports and how the school's cracked down on kids bringing Transformers to school in their bags.

Now I know that G1 Megatron was closer in scale [if not exact] to a real walter P38 then the MP Megatron is when it's in gun mode but if a trained police officer could not tell the difference I doubt that some kid working in a 7-11 would be able too if one were pointed at him or her.

Thank you!

And you have to factor in as well that if the average person sees some crazy person waving a gun at them, they are going to **** themselves and reasonable thinking will go out the window.

Just for kicks on how tough clerks are...

Bet this guy brought a MP Megatron...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiNPKcNpLNk

See now this one starts with simple comon sense, but I bet in the end a MP Megatron would have helped...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSPQKwEJcn4&NR=1

Oh My Goodness, a real gun vs a well placed stick...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhZRf4GIw0w&NR=1

And even without a weapon vs a real agressive hold up, there is no panic (:|
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Eyjjaw1KrM&NR=1

I can go on, but basicly in the end, this is not a scare tactic weapon, especialy at the 100+ imprt price...

I grew up in NYC and I remember it clearly a kid was shot by a police officer because he was playing with an Entertech watergun not Megatron and it happened near my old neighborhood. Those Entertech guns were great motorized waterguns that were sized and molded to look like the real weapon and painted black after that incident they were eventually painted in bright neon colors then eventually banned.I still have my AK in the basement somewhere..I miss the violence of the 80's lolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99UPQEFSGVQ
Oh and btw I was thinking about getting Masterpiece Megatron from BBTS for $99 is that orange plug easy to remove, does it leave any bad glue residue and how do you remove it?

If your from Brooklyn then the incedent I believe your referring to took place in the 90's around 97 or 98.

A 16 year old boy was shot about 15 times by police while ridding a bike holding a motorized watergun that looked like a 9mm submachine gun.

The incedent with the Megatron gun happened in Spanish Harlem back in 1984.

But ether way I could name half a dozen kid deaths in NYC from the 80's and 90's that were the result of toy guns of one kind or the other.

The youngest kid killed by police while holding a toy gun was a 13 year old boy from Brooklyn NY back in 1994.

And there are a whole host of Transformers related crimes from the 80's including drug running and robberies.

I got mine right away off Ebay before they made it manditory to do the modification. I knew that was coming.

And yeah, he is only going to go up in cost, especialy since he is only a Takara release.

Prime is cheaper, because even though he is made of much better materials, he's had several releases, plus an upgrade.

So to break it down, there are alot of Primes spread throughout the planet, while Megatron, not so much.

So like everyone is saying, $100+ is a tough nut, but $200+ is even worse, get him while you can.
