I hope someone can answer what these figures are and what the big deal is about Premium series figures.

They're supposed to be more "movie accurate" repaints and i,n some cases, remolds of the TFTM toyline. A new Prime with a new molded head along with BB. All repainted to look more like the movie counterparts.

The big deal? That part I can't help with.

well it's a chance for fane to get a more accurate figure. I'm getting Barricade due to his extra paint apps that's prolly it for me.

Wasn't the paint supposed to be metallic looking and shiny also. Like the Best Buy exclusives Megatron and Ratchet?

How do they plan on improving on Barricade?
He was the most accurate of all the figures to
begin with. I never noticed a problem with mine
and his paint apps were real nice to begin with.
Only thing I didn't like about him was the stupid arm gimmick.

The only semi-decent point to the line is that those who were never able to get the figures in their first release will now be able to get the figures with decent paint apps on them.

Other than that, the line is a stupendous waste of time and money, and a bit of a kick in the teeth for collectors too.

QFT when they should of put more resources to M.P. Starscream to be mass retail for those of us who are still trying to find one.

Agreed, Primes sword seems to be the highlight of this ENTIRE subline, and even still it's not that great.

I'm just figuring Hasbro wants no leftovers for the movie figures.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question I think I will stay away from them like the plague. Although I do have one more question does any version premium optimus prime come with a sword.

While I dislike the concept of Premium series (collectors like me who buys when the movie toys first come out have to either live with the crappier toy or sell and get the Premium) I may get it simply because I like the new paint app for Megatron. That makes two Megatrons that I'll be selling (movie and classics) to get the better version. Sigh.

A pointless drain on the wallet?

Further proof that Hasbro needs to step up their game for the next lines rather than use previous figures as a friggin' crutch?

Take your pick.
