The Energon Pub

So I was wandering around in Target yesterday, helping my girlfriend pick out some curtains, and made my required stop at the Transformers. Plenty of Scorponoks, Payloads, Elita-1s, a couple of the boxed sets (Barricade-Frenzy-Sam-Mikaela and Longarm-towing-injured-Bumblebee). There was also one First Strike Prime, but right next to him was an original Voyager Prime. I'm guessing he was hanging out in the stockroom and got pulled out along with First Strike Prime. After about ten minutes of staring at each of them side-by-side, I finally decided to get the original. First Strike looked nice, but his coloring just seemed off in robot mode. Too much red, IMO. So now I have Voyager Prime, and I'm quite pleased with him.

Anybody else got an opinion on the multiple Voyager Primes? Which one do you have?

I bought Target's Robovision Voyager Prime when the toys were "officially" released, and he's great. I like the subtle difference the metallic silver makes. That said, I'm not as excited about First Strike Prime, but I do like his alt mode colors better than his bot mode. I have yet to see him in stores, tho. In a moment of weakness I might buy him, it's a good mold.

I picked up First Strike Prime up yesterday also. I happen to like the "G1" color scheme to the flames. My biggest decision right now is which one to open.

When I bought Leader Class Prime, he told me he would 'cut me bad' if I bought Voyager Prime, aka Backpack Prime, aka Second-rate Prime, aka $20-Short-of-a-good-Prime Prime.

but if you want to know how I really feel, I just don't like Voyager Prime.

I got the original voyager, and I have to say I like the flame design better than First Strike. Either way, the figure itself is great.

I have Robovision and Leader Prime. I saw First Strike Primes in a store a few days ago, it is not bad, but I won't spend another $20 on it.

I like the original Voyager Prime better. I saw First Strike today at WalMart, looks ok but I like the flames better, more movie like. I am going to get the premium Leader Prime but no more voyager Primes for me.

Voyager Prime's hands look like they came out of one of those small bags of "dem bones" halloween candies. If Prime's hands were edible, maybe I'd have liked them for a few seconds ...

I enjoy the automorph on his legs, but other than that ... CP has it exactly right. $20 short of a good Prime, Prime.

I got leader Prime instead of the first voyager prime but I picked up First Strike to go with the rest of my G1 repainted movie figures. I agree with others that there is way too much red on his 'bot mode but I'm keeping all the G1 repaints unopened so no big deal.

GO ROBOVISION! the metalic paint looks nice to me. i bought it the week it came out.

My favorite Prime is Robovision. Got him on June 2nd. The metallic paint makes all the difference. However, I also picked up the First Strike Prime when I spotted him at Walmart over a week ago. He's not bad, but not as good as Robovision. I keep 1st Strike in Alt. mode next to my 20th Anniversary Prime. He makes a nice companion piece.
